5 years agoPauline Jeannerot The original thread you posted on was referring to two different issues. One was an issue on the Dropbox servers, and the other was an issue with the plugin itself. Neither had the same error message that you've shared though, so it seems they are not the same issue you're seeing. That being the case, I've moved your message to its own thread.
Anyway, you mentioned you're getting the error "invalid client id". When using the Dropbox API, the "client ID" is your app's "app key". You can find your app's app key on the app's info page on the App Console. You can get to the app's info page by clicking on the app's name there. Your app key a.k.a. client ID will be listed as "App key". Make sure you've copied over the correct value.
We can't offer help for Updraft Plus itself though, as it's not made by Dropbox, so if you're having any trouble configuring it, you may need to reach out to the developer/support for Updraft Plus itself.

Hi Greg and thanks, not sure what the app and id are, I just used to click on authentificate and that would work. Are there new steps to linking a dropbox to updraft then? Do I need to create a dropbox app?
thank you

To clarify, note that if you're an end-user of a third party app or integration like this that connects to Dropbox, you normally should not have to manually retrieve your own app key, etc. The developer should register the app key themselves, and build the ability to automatically connect your account to the third party app itself. You may wish to contact the developer to ask them to do so.
That said, it sounds like the app requires (or at least allows) you to register and use your own Dropbox API app, in which case you can get an app key from Dropbox like described in my last message.
I can't offer help with setting up Updraft Plus though, since that's not owned by Dropbox. I recommend referring to the documentation for Updraft Plus, or reaching out to its makers for help with that.
