I seem to be missing some of my files; how can I recover them?
I had files in my Dropbox account with calendar plans for upcoming years. They were titled 2025 Travel Calendar, 2026 Travel Calendar, etc. But these seem to have been lost. I did not delete them. How can I recover these important Word documents?

Sorry to hear that, wahlen2you.
When was the last time you saw those files on www.dropbox.com?
Can you also clarify your Dropbox plan, as shown here?
Keep me updated.

I'm on the Dropbox Basic (free) plan. But I've never used up all the space on the account. I've always moved large files to my computer to keep the total Dropbox space manageable. These files are one page MS Word documents so I never considered them at risk. The last time I saw them, I think, was late last year. I never expected that files could just vanish. My older calendar docs are there but 2025 Travel Calendar, 2026 Travel Calendar, etc. have simply disappeared. I have tried everything suggested above but they are nowhere to be found and Dropbox has no email support for the Basic plan so there is no one I can contact except on this forum.

Thanks for the additional information wahlen2you - much appreciated.
While I can't promise anything, would it be OK if we reached out via email to have a further look internally at this point?

Have you checked your Deleted Files page? Any files deleted in the last 30 days would be found there unless they were permanently deleted.
I did not delete them.
Dropbox doesn't (and can't) delete your files like that. Your Events page may give some insight into what happened.
You might also try searching your entire account in case the files were moved.

I've done all that. The files simply disappeared! The events page apparently goes back only a few months. It doesn't keep a full history.
