Handling a folder differently in multiple computers

Hello,

I would like to have a folder placed in a computer, uploaded from that computer into dropbox as it is usually done, but only available to other computers through dropbox without downloading the folder into those other computers as well.

How can I do this?

Many thanks for helping me.

Paulo

Hey Paulo Martins, sorry to jump in here!

In order to accomplish this, you'll need to allow those folders to sync to the other computers at first, but once that's done, you can go through your selective sync settings and remove them.

This is a computer specific setting, so it needs to be changed on each computer individually.

That way, they'll be removed from the computers in question and you'll be able to access them only from dropbox.com.

    I hope this helps!

Hi Paulo Martins! Thanks for your post.

Just to clarify, do you want to share that folder with other users and prevent them from saving a copy of it to another location of their device (after syncing it to their Dropbox app), or do you wish to have the folder available only via www.dropbox.com on your other devices and not sync it to the desktop app there?

Let me know, and we can have a look.

      Hello Nancy

      Many thanks for answering.

In my main computer I would like to have folders both in the computer and sync with dropbox

While in my other computer I would like to have access to these same folders but only via dropbox.com.

      How can I do this?
