When will online-only files work on Linux?
I need to save space on my hard drive. Online-only files would be the perfect solution, but it still does not work on linux fedora.
When will we have this solution?

At the moment, Smart Sync is only available on Windows and Mac. Dropbox has made no announcement on its availability on Linux. They usually don't discuss timelines or upcoming features until they're reaady to announce them, so we likely won't know that it's coming until it's already here, assuming that it's coming at all.

Hi Christos K., I hope you're doing well, and thanks for posting here!
At the moment, the ability to make your files only is only available on Windows and Mac devices, but not on Linux.
I hope this clarifies!

Hi Megan, thank you for the answer. Is there any visibility (or any way I can get notified) on when we may see this function (set up at Preferences all files as “online only”) coming also into Linux? Very grateful. Kind regards, Christos.

Hi Christos K., we don't have an ETA at the moment, but we'll make sure to update this thread, when we do.
I hope this helps!

This thread has been going for years!
I wouldn't expect them to fix it anytime soon. They have no priority helping linux users
We are going to move away from dropbox when our billing cycle comes round and I suggest you do the same if you are a Linux users as well
