Is Dropbox down today?
It was working fine and now my homepage won't load. Every time I go to click into the file it keeps saying, "something is wrong" and not opening/
Not good when I have a dissertation due next week!!!
Thanks all for the reports and feedback. We should be back online now.
@Manuel - is your computer offline or Dropbox only? Is it accessible from another network? 3g/4g on your mobile device for instance?

Lol no one from Dropbox is reading this. This post is just for us to rant about it being offline. They are WELL AWARE it is offline and are working to fix it. It is down globally! The entire world can't access it, it's not your network connection or how many 'bars' of service you have on your phone.
Sam C. I agree there are alternatives, I use CrashPlan for $4/month for UNLIMITED backup. But it's just that, CRASH plan. I have my files backuped up there as well in an emergency. Dropbox can't be beat with it's simplicity and it's sharing capabilities; Microsoft JUST got on the ball with folder sharing this month! http://www.pcworld.com/article/2956232/data-center-cloud/onedrive-finally-lets-you-sync-shared-folders.html
Maybe I'll consider using it again but before folder sharing was working it wasn't even a viable alternative. Dropbox is and will be for some time, the best cross-platform file syncing and sharing service. It's just got a big boo-boo right now :\ I'm very sad but hey, things happen. It IS a weekend, perhaps they went to doa major back-end upgrade that went terribly wrong or were attacked by DDoS. No official word yet.

Dropbox seems to be having server issues - as per all the other threads on this.
Dropbox ARE aware (http://status.dropbox.com) and hopefully it will be back soon.
Please also follow Is Dropbox down today? for more info as we get it.

Thanks to the "powers-that-be" - Dropbox is up and running again here in the Netherlands!

It appears that it is up on dropbox.com. App support is still down as both my PCs are stuck in 'conecting' on the app and my phone, which wa slogged in the whole time, is still OK. New connections are not able to be established through apps at this moment, though since the core is back up the rest should be soon.
