The desktop app doesn't start automatically on my Windows 11 computer.
New computer, Win11, nothing out of the ordinary installed (it's minimal as it's intended just to be a travel computer for the motorhome). Each time I start the computer, I have to manually start Dropbox. In Preferences, the Open Dropbox on Startup is checked, and in computer settings, the "Allow apps to communicate through Windows Defender Firewall" has two "Dropbox" and one "Dropbox for S mode" listed (the computer was bought with S mode but I immediately updated). I reinstalled (twice I think) but it still won't start automatically. Once started, it's in my notification tray and works just fine until I start the next time.
I don't remember what all I tried after I first posted, but unselect - select might have been one of them. I know I had tried that prior to my post. Whatever it was I tried, it seemed to work. This morning when I booted up, it worked.
I'm on my main computer at present so I can't give exact answer to app version, but since it's a new computer and new installation, it would be current. When I used the travel computer this morning, it said "Your files are up to date".
As for S mode, your link says that "does not actively store files and folders on your device" and since DB does store my selected folders of files onto the computer, I would say the answer is no, not S mode.
In any case, it seems to be working ok now. I'll try to come back in a week and advise if it continues to work.

Thanks for posting this on our forum, KathrynBassett!
If you unselect - select again the option to start Dropbox on system startup, does it seem to help?
I’d also like to know the current syncing status and app version of the Dropbox app on your computer.
Finally, are you using Dropbox for S mode at the moment on your device?
Let me know when you’re ready.

It continues to work, so I can say this is solved. Thanks for your reply about things to do.
