How to change the name of Dropbox Backup Folder?
My MacBook was unhelpfully added to Dropbox Backup as "Mac (4)" which makes no sense. This isn't even the hostname of that machine.
How do I change the machine name?

Okay found it's now in a separate area of Dropbox Settings outside of Dropbox Preferences.
Dropbox, why do you make everything so difficult?

Where did you find this esoteric knowledge? Where is it located?
I'm dealing with PC (2)/(3) etc and don't want to resort to putting a sticker on each computer so I know which is which.

Hey Wrich73, are you on the updated version of backup or the older one?
If you're on the older one, you can't rename your backup folders, I'm afraid.
- Wrich735 months agoNew member | Level 2Hi Hannah, where do I download the updated version?
I removed myself from my business (I linked my personal to business standard in 2019) and set up family Dropbox instead for my personal email—but still don’t have the ability to rename it. I thought being removed from a business account would help.
Thanks for you help.
