I logged into my account and it created a new one, so I can't access my existing account
My workplace has a Dropbox that we have used for years, I am the person who has had access to it and managed it the past year and a half. I last logged in on March 28th of this year. Today, I went to login to do some stuff, and when I put in the username and password, it made me a new account and signed me into that one and I cannot get into the account I have been using that has a lot of files in it.
edit additions in advance: I have already checked the recently deleted area to confirm that nothing was deleted. I also, in March, shared a folder with someone else for viewing purposes. I went back, found that link and it takes me to the folder - so it should still exist - but I could only view it as an outsider with whom it was shared; I am no longer recognized as the creator of the folder.

Hey user46! Welcome to our Community.
After reading your post, I understand that a new Dropbox account has been accidentally created, which is totally separate from the old existing account.
Have you checked your email address here to make sure there aren’t any typos?
If this isn’t the case, do you have any other email addresses? Please try signing into Dropbox with any other email address you may have, in order to access your previous account.
Finally, was the folder that you mention shared via link?
Keep me posted for any updates.

Thanks for your response! I have double checked the email to make sure there are no typos, and it is the only email linked to the account so it is the only one used for login purposes. And yes, the folder I brought up was shared via link - I emailed someone the link, I can go back into my email and click the link and it still takes me to the folder, I can just no longer do anything other than view the folder.

Hey user46, sorry to jump in here.
Was your account previously a member of a Dropbox Business team perhaps?
Could it be that the admin of that team removed you from it, thus also deleting your account?
Because only if the previous account was deleted, would you be able to create a new account under the same email address.
