Spoiler
After updating to this version, I got a prompt from Dropbox to update the app, stating it would move my files to a new secure location (I assume the /CloudStorage folder). I did NOT enable the update because this version seems to be working, and the last time I allowed the Dropbox MacOS app to update, I had all sorts of syncing issues once all my Dropbox files got moved to the /Users/Username/Library/CloudStorage/ folder.
Moving forward, is it best to simply download the install files from this Stable Builds site rather than letting the app auto-update?

'I assume the /CloudStorage folder'
This is the way to go. I would advise allowing the move to be carried out.
'Update directly from Stable Builds page instead of allowing Dropbox macOS app to autoupdate'
Autoupdate will automatically update to the stable build shown here within a day or two anyway.

When you allowed it to auto-update and move all your files to a /Cloudstorage folder, did you find that the Spotlight indexing still worked fine? I'm a little worried about allowing the auto-update because it's working great right now with all my files in the older /User/Dropbox/ folder location. The last time I let Dropbox move all my files to the /CloudStorage folder, it completely screwed up Spotlight indexing.

Everything worked perfectly and I've had several updates since carrying out the move last Autumn. The only thing I had to do with some apps, that use Dropbox, was to 'point them' to the new location of the folder.
Spotlight indexing still works perfectly.
