Dropbox Dash | What you need to know
Thank you for testing the Dropbox Dash beta and for joining this group. Any feedback you can share with us will be valuable to us as we continue to work on this experience.
Please note: Dropbox early releases are subject to additional terms and conditions.
This post will outline some of the changes you can expect to see in this beta release and what we are hoping to test.
What to expect from the Dropbox Dash beta experience
The Dropbox Dash beta experience is currently available to users who choose to opt-in. Dash connects with all your work tools including: Google Workspace, Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce, Notion and many more. You’ll have instant access to all the info you need to do your best work. With Dash, one search bar is all it takes to find exactly what you’re looking for.
You can use Dropbox Dash by downloading the beta here. Dash is available as a desktop app and as a web browser plugin.
Testing Goals
We are testing a number of different things as part of this beta experience, but there are three key areas we want to focus on:
- Search: How easily users are able to find their content through the Dash search functionality, and how well the search works across various apps.
- Stacks: We want to evaluate how stacks are working for users to organise their links and content, along with any changes that could be made to improve the experience.
- Dash Starting Page: Similar to stacks, we want to determine how the dash starting page is assisting users, and providing them with useful recommendations of what they are working on next.
What’s next
We truly appreciate you testing this beta, and if you have support questions or general feedback on how we can improve this experience, let us know by creating a topic here.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

I received an email stating I was accepted from the waitlist, but when I select the link to download, it redirects me to the page to join the waitlist. Am I missing something? Thaks in advance for your help.

Hey there thehuntgroupinc, thanks for reaching out! When you visit dropbox.com/dash/install, are you still met with the waitlist prompt? Let us know and we'd be happy to assist with getting this resolved for you!

Homer You can quit an application in several ways. Navigate to the Dropbox Dash app, most easily by using cmd + space and typing "Dash" or "Dropbox Dash" to bring up the application. If Dash is running, you can also find it in the dock at the bottom of your screen.
Once there, you can click "Dropbox Dash" in the top left of your screen and select "Quit Dropbox Dash"
Otherwise, you can click the Apple logo in the top left of your screen, select Force Quit, then select Dropbox Dash.

Nope, that doesn't work. As you will see from the screenshots, Dash does not show up in the list of apps that can be force-quit. It also doesn't show up in the dock at the bottom of the screen. Its icon does show up as menubar item at the top of the screen, and as a floating window that says "Open Dash", but you can't quit either. And if I can't quit it, I can't delete the app.

Hi Homer!
Since the Dash application has not been fully installed yet, the uninstallation process is slightly different. You'll want to utilize Activity Monitor on your Mac to Quit the Dash installer. I've included the full steps below:
- Navigate to Activity Monitor using your Mac's Spotlight functionality
- Locate Dash within Activity Monitor (you can search for Dash and that will bring up all instances)
- For each line, select the line and click the Force Quit button above it
Looks like this: - Once you've Force Quit each instance of Dash, you should be able to resume with dragging Dropbox Dash to the trash to uninstall
- Be sure to empty the trash and restart your computer once you've completed the above, to ensure that Dash has been successfully removed

Is there a way to use dash without it being forced as the home screen when I open a new tab?
- BenDBXCommunity Manager
Hi mtseilback,
This is not possible without removing or disabling the Dash browser extension, but I can certainly provide this feedback to our team.

I'm not too keen on dedicating every new tab to Dash. It is aggravating.

Help! I downloaded Dropbox Dash on my Mac and started it up. Now I can't get rid of it. Even after quitting Dropbox itself and restarting with Dropbox off, Dash still starts automatically on startup. I don't see a way to quit it or prevent it from starting automatically on startup. I even went to my Dropbox account page and disconnected Dash from Dropbox, but that made no difference. How do I quit Dash, prevent it from starting on restart, and delete the Dash app?

- HomerHelpful | Level 7Thanks for the response, but the instructions don't help me because I see no way to Quit Dash. That's where I could use help.
To uninstall the macOS Dash Desktop app:
- Quit Dash
