Hi desertRF - thanks for reaching out!
It sounds like you may need to change the default keyboard shortcut (hotkey) for Dash.
You can change the hotkey that launches Dash by using the following steps:
1. Launch Dash
2. Navigate to the Preferences console (either press CTRL + Comma, or click on the question mark icon)
3. Select Keyboard Shortcuts
4. Under "New Search" - choose a different hotkey command to launch Dash.
This can even be CTRL + Spacebar if that works for you!
Feel free to reach out to Support here if you have any additional questions!
This program starts when I use Ctl E - the send button for my email. I need to stop Dropbox from doing this. How? Help!

I don't want to be that guy, but are you recommending spacebar as the shortcut to supplant the already phenomenal mac Spotlight? That's actually Cmd + Space on a mac. Or could we still use spotlight and use the mac keyboard version of "control" + spacebar to toggle between good local search, and Dash*beta?
