New folder creation - Option to change default behavior of "Send an email notification" checkbox
This idea would solve a lot of issues and address many complaints. Creating the option to change a default behavior when creating a new folder within a parent folder. Currently you cannot modify the checkbox below from being checked by default when creating a new folder. If you do not un-check the box, an email notification is sent to every member of the parent folder. Please see a screenshot of the dialogue box and checkbox in question:

@anthony_nordin I have voted for the idea

I believe the default should be off and given the option to the creator of the file/folder. This had me so freaked out that I thought our system was hacked!! I was almost in tears! This is very rarely used in our office to send email notifications to members.

Thanks for the response @AliceDropbox
I'm in agreement with Anthony in that this checkbox should remain unchecked by default so that users can opt-in to reach out rather than opt-out of automatically email blasting. I think a majority of use cases would prefer this route.

I concur with Josh. By default, this option should be unchecked. I fail to see a valid use case for it to always send notifications whenever a folder is created by every team member. Unless you're a person who enjoys receiving 100s of pointless emails a day, it would be better if these people just live in their spam folders for variety's sake. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

AliceDropbox This needs to be turned off by default, in no situation would I want someone to notify me for making a folder.

This has been driving me nuts; I get an email and a Slack notification each time a folder is created. We have over 3 million folders on our Dropbox, which grows daily. This has to stop!

Hi Alice,
What a quick response, awesome! This is based on my personal experience and feedback I've read in community threads. I believe that most would prefer it off or not have the option at all. What you've suggested (persist previous option) seems like it would be a good idea, but I believe could lead to more frustration for those of us who want it to remain off in perpetuity. However, I'm sure you may be mentioning that option due to the complexity of making a change allowing modification to default behavior.
