15 TopicsAdmin report on folders by filters such as folder type, folder owner, amount of data in the folder
I'd love to be able to pull of a report of all Folders, ideally to include Folder Type, Folder owner, last modified and amount of data in the folder. Would be very useful for housekeeping of folders.1.2KViews1like6CommentsAllow Dropbox Business team sync online-only settings for more than the parent or one subfolder
There is a major limitation with dropbox in that you can only change the global sync default settings for parent and one sub-ordinate folder in global settings. I want to set default sync settings to online only for team members for third, fourth, fifth level sub-ordinate folders. It is not practical or reasonable to do this on a machine by machine level. I don't understand why there is a restriction at all. Raised with Dropbox Support, who were the most unhelpful with their responses.420Views0likes4CommentsOption to view only and not download files
Hi there, I understand that there is a feature which allows Dropbox Business admins to restrict certain folders from editing by specific team members and Admins can make them view only. However, the view only feature has a default option of downloading the files also. In other words, when an admin restrict a folder from editing, the file can still be downloaded by the member. I want to suggest that Dropbox Business Admins should have a sub option to restrict the download of files from the folder which is in view only mode. Hi there, Admins should have the power/option to restrict use of dropbox on web by a Team member. Admins should also have the power/option to choose selected teams members who may be allowed to use the drop box Web, instead of a general option barring all team members. Hi there, Admins should also have the power/option to restrict the use of Dropbox to a specific device. I do understand that there is a feature which limits the number of devices and I also know there is an exception list for this also. But it would be great that Admins should have the power to decide on a granular level as to which individual team can have access to which particular device and how many. DropBox has evolved within many organizations to take on the role of more than just a sharing and archiving system, to become a fundamental hub integral to many facets of their work. From collaboration, to knowledge distribution, many have leveraged the available client tools, however, the tools available to administrators has not grown along with it. I need data on my data, and sadly the available reports are lacking. For instance, I can see the super-users on our deployment based on physical file storage, but I cannot see what specific files of theirs that are generating the most activity. How am I supposed to justify my license count if there is no means to truly verify the service is worth it, and actively utilized?4.4KViews6likes6CommentsEmail Notifications - Admin should have ability to toggle on or off by team or individual
Our teams function separately and we don't want team members to receive summary or activity emails. I don't like the precedent it sets for monitoring/comparing hours and changes to files, outside of the Administrative or Managerial capacity. It allows people to ask questions and "check up on" coworkers in a way that we don't like. Why can't I turn of those email summaries and notifications depending upon user role? No one needs to be getting them - if anyone there should be the option for Admin Only. Currently this can only be adjusted on individual accounts and it has already created an issue in the first week.2.1KViews2likes3Comments
