I set my Dropbox and folders to online only but it is still taking up the majority of my hard drive. The files are (also?) located on my c drive: C:\Users\JaneDoe\Dropbox. If I delete a folder from the C drive it deletes it everywhere. I'm not sure how to fix this as I have never had this problem before.Solved200Views0likes3CommentsDropbox uses a ton of hard drive space despite most files being online only
So, I've put ALL my files on online-only because my Mac was running out of space. In my Mac settings, Dropbox takes up 108 GB currently. Once I actually look at what folders are taking up space it's less than 2 GB (you can see in the screenshot what I mean). What is taking up all this space?Solved13KViews3likes51CommentsMy Dropbox folder is taking up a lot of space on my computer
Hello: Shortly after I got a new computer, I keep getting messages that my hard drive is full. so when I check the storage it is my Dropbox folder using all the space: and when I go to the website, I have 2T space available: So, my 2 questions are: I obviously do NOT need 2T space, so can I change my subscription to give me less space? How can I remove the Dropbox folder off my hard drive and only use the website? I changed the setting to "available online only" but I do not really know exactly what that means. I did not seem to change the space - maybe I have to restart the computer? Thanks, smblock241Views0likes1CommentMy hard drive is full even though I've set my folder to be online-only
Agreed to the new Mac Folders and the sync tells me my hard drive is full and I have all of my folders set for Make online only. Everything shows clouds but when I check my hard driveutility it says all space is taken and normally half my drive is clear. I clearedcache but no help. This is the second time a full sync like this has happened in 2 days.Solved605Views0likes16CommentsI don't see all my files on www.dropbox.com and I'm running out of hard drive space.
I spent nearly 2 hours with customer support and they said they needed to escalate my case to someone else. The someone else sent me a link to the general Dropbox information to read through volumes of documents to figure it out myself. My hard drive is nearly full and when I go to delete files on my computer, I am being prompted to say the files will also be deleted from Dropbox. What the??? Can anyone help me? I am at wits end. Also, when I click on the shortcut on my homepage, I can see all of my files. When I go to Dropbox.com, none of them are there. Hi. Please help me.. I am on macbook pro 2015, macos storage management shows my dropbox folder to be 265.4GB, but when I click to see what is inside- it is empty. My plan is 2GB, so where are my files? I also have the dropbox app uninstalled. This has been going on for over a year, so annoying. Everyday I get this (see screenshot) onMac Os when connecting any device to sync photos."Not enough dropbox space" - Mac - But I have PLENTY of space.. and I see it on both of my macs but not my iphone (which indicates to me a poorly written client on mac). Resolution: sign out and sign in again.. but that means setting up my profile again each time, choosing locations, and closing badges, and so on and so on - and this take a lot of time.. What's the real fix or workaround here? And why haven't dropbox fixed it. Why on earth would I buy an upgraded plan when something as simple as this fails to function correctly.. Other tests I've tried: complete uninstall / reinstall.Solved7.5KViews1like56CommentsOnline-only files still taking up space on hard drive and Dropbox cache doesn't exist
Hi, Im referring to a Mac (OS 14.5 Sonoma) I have 600GB of files that are supposed to be online only, they have the cloud icon and arrow next to them, but still take up the same amount of space as if they were stored locally. They dont seem to be local though as if I want to open a file it starts downloading. I have also noticed that if I remove a file from drop box and delete, and empty trash the amount of storage stays they same, like its still there. I have tried following instructions on here to delete drop box cache but the folder doesnt appear . The only hidden file that is revealed is 41kb file called .dropbox. I would add screenshots but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way. Anybody able to help ??158Views0likes2Comments
