Solo lawyer here. So far as I can tell it's possible to download ONE DIRECTORY AT A TIME!!! Why? I'd pay to obtain all my files on an external SSD. We could do it via USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, or whatever. I'd pay for the SSD. I want to keep the directory structure so I can access it, if necessary; and, so I can discard over the next 7-10 years. But why should I pay DropBox to keep my files so I can delete them as time deems them discardable? I am no longer working and I cannot afford to keep paying pro subscription prices. The IRS will question these losses I incur to DropBox after I've stopped practicing law. Isn't there an efficient way to escape DropBox without continuing to pay while I do this download, one directory at a time?? REALLY?
Searching for text in images - when?
Hi, I've been waiting for something like that since I saw it for the first time on iOS a few years ago. Today I discovered that it becomes more popular and for example Google Drive offers that. I'm paying for Dropbox Pro and I'm using it since the beginning but I may switch to Google Drive and transfer my 1.5TB data there only for that 1 function as it's a deal breaker for me. When will such option be available in Dropbox and why it's not available yet?
Unable to view folders on iPhone, app freezes.
Hello, I have not been able to use the Dropbox app on my iPhone 14 pro for about a week now. I have contacted customer support daily and haven't received any help at all so I am now attempting the community. I have deleted and downloaded the dropbox app 4 times now. I have cleared the cache on the app as well. I have restarted the phone numerous times. Nothing works as the app freezes anytime I try to go to a folder. Does anyone have any suggestions??

So, here is a funny story. A customer has dropbox and I have been trying to integrate his system with it. Notwithstanding the whole Oauth issue with tokens keep expiring AND pushing JSON in a WebRequest Body doesn't work well with Powershell anymore and you can't install it on Windows Server, I tried to utilize automations. Everytime I tried to do an automation I get to the last step and the SAVE button is still disabled. So, they had me download and install DropBox Capture to show them what was happening. After the fourth day of them not coming up with a solution, Madison (Ticket #22857339) sent me a doctored image telling me that once I got to a certain point, hit the Save button, which was now somehow in blue. Now, I was tired and said that I would get to it in the morning, but something seemed off. First, I went through the steps again, with of course no success. Then I played the video WHICH DIDN'T HAVE ANY IMAGES LOOKING LIKE THE ONE THAT SHE SENT BACK TO ME. So my reply to her was: Good morning Madison, Well, you almost got me, but you didn't. First, I went to both the video and watched it, and AT NO POINT WAS THE SAVE BUTTON BLUE. Second, the whole thing with the keyword being shown up as an option with the ability to remove it -- the images with "invoices_" and an X -- doesn't appear at all and didn't appear at all either. That seemed highly suspicious to me. What kind of shop are you running over there? The audacity to actually lie like this is something that I have NEVER seen before.
Does Dropbox only count the bandwidth used for partial/canceled downloads towards the daily limit?
I recently bought the 3TB pro plan. Yesterday when I tried downloading a 10GB file but canceled the download after only after 500MB had transferred, my daily usage showed the full 10GB being deducted from my quota. My question is: Does Dropbox only count the bandwidth used for partial/canceled downloads towards the daily limit, or does it count the full file size? I've noticed that my daily limit is being reached very easily when canceling larger downloads midway through. Can someone clarify how partial downloads are accounted for against the daily usage quota. I’d like to better understand how quota usage is counted against premium users.
Photos added to drop box with ".JPG" (uppercase) extension don't seem to be recognized as photos
I noticed some of my photos that I placed in a folder don't show up in the Photos section of dropbox. It seems that if they have an extension of .JPG (all uppercase) they don't appear. Files with a lowercase .jpg appear as expected.
