Dropbox Shop
5 TopicsI'd like a feature that allows us to sell files via Dropbox.
Hi All, I am a business user of Dropbox, and I think it would be an incredibly valuable feature wherein Dropbox can be integrated with a payment gateway, to allow monetisation of files. I.e content creators and distribution allowed to assign an admin account from their payment gateway to a folder category, where all files in the folder can be sold. As an example, an agency such as mine being able to store files in my Dropbox, categorised by client, and being able to connect their bank account directly to each file in their folder, so they can receive payment for the distribution of their files. Also, as a music publisher and distributor, I would be able to collect royalties and revenue for my clients, and distribute the funds to them.214Views0likes1CommentDropbox Shop keyword search for products. Is it possible?
While uploading products into Dropbox Shop, there was a handy Search field for shop owners. However, when I "View Storefront" to see it from a customer's perspective, I'm not seeing a search option there. Am I missing it? I tried this in Firefox and Google. It would be quite handy for customers to be able to search through products by keyword. The closest equivalent I could get was to use a browser's "Find in Page" feature. However, only a limited number of items are presented on the initial screen/page. A customer would have to be savvy enough to scroll down through the previews for the entire inventory (several hundred items, in my case) before the "Find in Page" could actually be fully effective. If a search feature is not available or anticipated, do you have suggestions for other ways to help customers find specific products?Solved1.6KViews1like2CommentsDropbox Shop Preview/Thumbnail confusion
I'd seen previous discussion indicating that Shop creates a thumbnail of an item being sold. Either that was incorrect or settings have changed. I've been uploading images to sell and see the Product name (I'm just using the image file name, which I've customized), but there appears to be no automatic thumbnail generated. In the Shop directions, it notes: Under Preview, click Upload from device or Add from Dropbox. I do see the option for that under "Additional details" for a product. Is there anyway to automatically generate a Preview from the uploaded product, when it's a digital image? It would be ideal if there was a checkbox, for example, to "Create preview from product image." I tried the "Add from Dropbox" using the link provided to "Share" a product image, but Dropbox didn't recognize that for this purpose. I actually do have watermarked versions of all my images available for sale, but uploading those as a Preview image would double the storage use, unless I also first reduce the resolution and/or image size - and I don't know what resolution/size might be recommended for a preview/thumbnail. This is all for a local fund-raiser, so I'm trying to get away with using my Basic plan. (Uploading a second image for preview would put me over my storage limit.) Hey guys, I am starting a Shopify store where we require customers to upload files with their order - these files can be as big as 2 to 3gb so it's been difficult to find a Shopify app that will allow it because of the file size limits they all impose. We have an unlimited Dropbox business account, so my question is - is there a way to link our company Dropbox account with Shopify so that when customers complete their order they can upload directly into a personal Dropbox folder on our account? Any other ideas please just let me know! 🙂 Thanks in advance.1.6KViews0likes1Comment
