You might see that the Dropbox Community team have been busy working on some major updates to the Community itself! So, here is some info on what’s changed, what’s staying the same and what you can expect from the Dropbox Community overall.

I would much prefer to have the files and folders presented in a file manager tree view rather than having half of the screen taken up with preview thumbnails of recent files. The current layout is frustrating to work with, especially when working collaboratively as it encourages poor file management practices. I want my Dropbox interface to be clear and functional, not fun.116Views1like4CommentsShow the actual date a file is uploaded or modified
I don't understand why the dropbox mobile app doesn't show the specific date that a file is uploaded or modified in dropbox. This is a file management feature that has been around for many years and seems ridiculous that we can't see it in dropbox, especially when I'm sure your servers capture the specific date a file is uploaded or modified. All your app shows now is a nebulous designation of, for example, "2 weeks ago" or "3 months ago", etc.977Views0likes2CommentsWork with multiple folders at the same time on the website
Work with multiple folders at the same time on the web (in one page). For example you can do some tabs. I would like to easely move files between folders. I don't want to go through the entire folder structure every time I move files before I get to the one I want. For example something as new tabbed file explorer in Windows 11.620Views0likes2CommentsDark/bright or colored themes for Dropbox Replay
Hi there, As Dropbox Replay is a reviewing tool on which clients, partners, brands... are landing to watch a work in progress, it would be really a great idea to have the same dark/bright mode switch as in Dropbox itself. Sometimes people prefer a dark environment, and sometimes not. Moreover, we also use Dropbox Replay as a portfolio tool when responding to calls for tenders, or as a video bank whose link clients can share to let TV channels or other media services download media assets. So in those cases it would even be useful to be able to choose any color as a background theme. As an example, I am just responding to an important call for tendrers for which I need to build a portfolio. Dropbox Replay is perfect for this purpose BUT the client's guidelines are very clear : No dark background. Only white background is accepted for their communications. So using Dropbox Replay here is the same as saying to the client : "I didn't understand anything about your graphic guidelines". (Or mood, spirit, .....) Thanks!859Views0likes2CommentsMake the folders in shared links appear in grid view by default.
It would be more viewer-friendly if the folders and their files were displayed more like actual folders and files, i.e. the Grid View. The same information is displayed but the list view is like File Manager and looks more technical which is OK if the only people who are going to access it are fellow workers, but I'm sending clients and customers to my folder and I would like the option to have it look better. I would even consider moving from Free to Basic to improve my customer's experience.444Views0likes6CommentsEmojis instead of folder icons
Customisation to folder icons on Dropbox, so if i've got a folder called "Music" I could choose a Music related emoji (i.e. ) instead of having the default blue Dropbox folder icon ( ) next to the folder called "Music". It would help differentiate multiple folders and allow more customisation options?182Views0likes2CommentsIncrease max-width of Dropbox Paper content area at LG/XL breakpoints
Hello, I have some feedback to pass along to your design & dev teams regarding the web experience using Dropbox Paper on a Chrome brower (Version 127.0.6533.73). Is it possible to increase the max-width of the content area in LG & XL breakpoints? Currently, when reading/writing/editing in Paper in a 1280px wide viewport, the content area is limited to only 745px wide – 58% of the available viewport. The left & right margins feel excessively large and the "dead space" creates difficulties when trying to view multiple windows on a single device screen. Allowing the content area to stretch at least 75% of the viewport width would keep more of the content in view without scrolling, would better accommodate users on large devices, and still include negative space for your eye to rest. Please see the attached screenshots for a visual representation; and please reach out with any questions or for more details. Could you please remove the scroll bar? It gets in the way. When I open Dropbox to download a file I just uploaded, I have to wait a few seconds for the scroll bar to disappear. It's a mobile app for touchscreens. Why do we need a scroll bar, anyway? The entire screen is a scroll bar.474Views0likes6Comments
