8 TopicsDropbox keeps saying, Downloading 67 files...
Hi, There's a similar topic, but nothing there works for me. Holding Space doesn't reveal any hidden buttons. I had files owned by root, but I changed the owner to my user (uid 1000) on the "source" laptop, and the problem persists (my uid on both laptops is 1000). There are not many files with spaces, and those that have them, they have them in the middle of a filename. I'm running Arch Linux, dropbox-176.4.5108. The sad thing is, there doesn't seem to be any logs to see what it's doing and what's the problem. I don't even know which files it can't download.Solved1.7KViews0likes13CommentsSyncing is stuck on my Linux devices, what can I do?
It seems I have the same problem as mentioned in above posts. I am running Dropbox on a pc and laptop, both having Linux-Lubuntu as the os. After a "one time update" on both systems, Dropbox is stuck indexing/uploading/downloading a small number of files. In addition, I noticed that when I rename a file on my hard disk, the name of that file is not always changed in the cloud. I tried the two fix options and did a complete reinstall of the dropbox client, but no success. I would appreciate any help.Solved19KViews6likes53CommentsI wish we could bind (linux) Dropbox as drive.
hi there as a business user, let me ask for one missing feature, unsure where to get it ,or if i have to make one myself. iam used to linux, and i start to migrate 2 other drives to dropbox , and have one more, my whole business is saved in clouds, and i keep updates all around.lets talk about 30-50tb at each drive. what i miss here, is a app or function to bind dropbox to a drive. meaning, to have access to the whole dropbox, without downloading it (it would not work anyway, if my migration is complete,it ends up at maybe 50 tb. in the next 6 months, (based on what my other drives use) to understand what i mean, a few examples ocamlfuse, is what is used to bind Gdrive, as a whole disk to a linux system (thats what i migrate from) box ..does not even know linux exists.. (there i migrate from as well) pcloud uses their own app, which hosts a drive, with access to all data (thats what i use aswell with 60TB lifetime) but dropbox, does not have any feature of that sort, the app for linux only offers selected sync, which is perfect,if you can prepare,or have a perma 1gbit, but if iam at a customer place,to setup a new system,or modify theirs , i kinda have no 1 gbit con.. and would need direct access on the fly. take it as a suggestion, for now.. if nothing comes up,i will ask for all the api infos i can get,and might start making my own , kinda like ocamlfuse happend for gdrive (not my work, but a good one) the whole question has no influence on dropbox as itself, the service is great, i love the speed, right now i throw several terrabytes a day, at it,to get my whole stuff sorted from box n gdrive to dropbox. and i use 4 differend pages to shovel all the data, (like multcloud) , the only thing i am worried is, that i tried box n gdrive first, several years jumping thru hoops, to get my needs, and then its so simple, i wish i would have tried it sooner..nvm ,now iam here, and i have needs.. (space for now, access methods later) ideas,suggestions.. happy to read, sorry for my horrible english, its far from my mainlanguage. Hello all, Two or three weaks ago dropbox decided to remove symlinks, and we have to move all our files to a new 4TB disk that is mounted on our main server (Ubuntu System). We follow the protocol and now we have a 4TB EXT4 directory as main folder for our Dropbox. We are a company that have 2 accounts, some folders and important information are syncing between each other, as we use that as our main shares for the company. Since the new disk was adquired all the structure folders are doing conflicts over and over, and when i create some files or folders it always syncing between the Dropbox site, but the information does not arrives on the machine, and one of the machine dropbox is always saying "Downloading at 0,0kb/s), and its stuck. I already tried several approaches but its very boring, cause people are constatly working on these folders, and its over 500,000 files. Its actually the double of that. I have no more ideas what i can do to fix this problem, but after several approaches i can only think its a Dropbox problem. What i already tried: - Remove and purge Dropbox and let it sync again but the problem persists; - Remove and purge databases instances and let it sync again but the problem persists; Hoping some kind of answer since i already read the help section, and none of the suggested solutions seems to work. Thanks in advance.Solved6.1KViews0likes15Commentssync only one folder on linux
I have a huge dropbox business account, and I'd like to sync one "deep" folder on a linux client. This folder is deep in the folder hierarchy, so for example the folder: "folder 1/folder 2/folder 3" is the ONLY one I want downloaded to the linux client. I tried: dropbox.py exclude add * ; dropbox.py exclude remove 'folder 1/folder 2/folder 3' and various permutations of that, but I always still end up with: dropbox.py exclude list Excluded: folder 1 What's the magical set of commands I need to issue to exclude everything - except one deep folder? Or, do I need to create local paths for this deep folder on the client first?8.4KViews0likes23Commentsdropbox filestatus unwatched for all files in Dropbox directory
Ubuntu 19.10 Dropbox daemon version: 93.4.273 Dropbox command-line interface version: 2020.03.04 Dropbox is keeping up to date -- up and down. Hi All! Here is what happened, I use a bullet point list for clarity 🙂 -I did a fresh install of Fedora 32 on my system. -Installed dropbox from rpm and sudo dnf install... -Installed the daemon as requested -Installed TopIcon Plus -Some files were downloaded meanwhile -I restarted my machine -Dropbox autostarted and the icon says syncing -Also "dropbox status" says syncing However, the folder size and files are stuck and they don't go beyond 51.3MB. I can't find a way to have Dropbox downloading again the files (I also tried reinstalling the daemon from the command line via "sudo dropbox start -i") Any idea how I can proceed from here? Thanks in advance!Solved2.7KViews0likes5Comments
