Multiple Accounts
150 TopicsCan I have multiple Dropbox accounts on one device?
I currently use the Dropbox desktop app with one account, syncing sticker WhatsApp group files seamlessly. However, I also have a second Dropbox account, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to log into both accounts on the same device via the Dropbox installer. How can I switch between accounts, or is there a way to manage both without needing to log out and back in? I'm using personal accounts, not part of a team, and I want to keep both accounts synced for different projects. Could anyone guide me through this process?Solved50Views0likes1CommentGetting an error that email is taken when trying to change my email in the account settings
I was recently invited to join the team and, upon opening the provided link, I was prompted to create a new account due to having two accounts. I misunderstood the instructions and thought my existing files would migrate to this new account. I used an email address that I can no longer access for the new account, and I would like to revert to my old email address. When I attempted to change my email in the account settings, I received a message stating that the email is already taken. Could you please assist me in transferring my files back to my original email address and resolving this issue? Thank you for your help!200Views0likes3CommentsMy devices are linked to two different email addresses
When I now go to dropbox on my PHONE, it appears to be linked to ONE of my prior (but still active) email addresses. When I go to dropbox on my COMPUTER, it appears to be linked ANOTHER one of my email addresses. I got a new phone update several years ago and wanted to start using dropbox again. When I went to open dropbox (probably on my computer), it appeared I was setting up a NEW dropbox account. However, I could see older pictures I had saved in dropbox previously. I'm not sure what happened but, this is the confusing part. When I go to dropbox on my computer, in the upper right hand corner, the second of my email addresses is shown. When I go to dropbox on my phone, the first of my email addresses is shown. ***My fear now is that if I sign out of one or both accounts, I will be locked out of BOTH dropbox accounts! Can you see accounts for both yahoo.com and gmail.com? Have they been combined? Were all of my previous account's photos carried over when you set up my newer account? It appears most were, but I am missing some that I thought I had uploaded to dropbox with the prior email address. Thank you.308Views0likes4CommentsCan't link work account, pop-up msg says already linked but it's not
On my desktop app, I used to have both my personal Dropbox account and my work account. The work account is no longer active (it's been over 1.5 years). And now I'm trying to link a new work account but I get this pop-up msg in red "That account can’t be paired. You can only pair one work account with one personal account." When I went to unlink the old work account by following the steps here (https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/link-unlink-two-accounts),no accounts were listed. So I clicked on "Link accounts" and again it took me back to the pop-up message in red quoted above. Anyone know how to get to the bottom of this??572Views0likes5CommentsTrouble pairing two accounts on my computer
Hello! For three years I worked with a small company that used a Dropbox team account. For years I've had a personal one. During the pandemic when all of the work was from home and I had to use my own computer for work, I could sync within my own computer both accounts at the same time - having live sync on both folders at the same time. I left that company and now I am back and when I try to sync once again both accounts in the same computer, it appears an error message of please login with your paired account. I have been on my company team account settings, unlinked a previous account that had been linked and once I try again in vain as the message keeps repeating. Am I missing anything? Once it is linked with one account is it linked forever? Is it an app bug?1.2KViews0likes5CommentsAfter trial, everyone in group lost access to Dropbox & now can't access account.
After I finished my trial, the other members received a notice stating that they will have to wait 1 week before being able to log on again. It's been 2 weeks and all the members get the notification that they must wait 1 more day. However, they keep getting this notification and 7 days have passed while being told just one more day. I think the problem is that I deleted everyone from account at the end of my trial. Then, I received an email with a link asking if I want to continue with the plan or disband the members. As I already deleted everyone, there was no one to disband. Now, I'm stuck in this circle where I keep getting emails asking to disband or continue with the plan. No other choice is given and everyone cannot access any other account (I'm told). If anyone know of a way to stop this and free everyone, please let me know. Thank you.245Views0likes3CommentsDropbox Business Account set up. Not sure about merging your own content.
Hi, I am really struggling with the set up of our business account. For background, we are a committee from various organisations, needing access to the same files. When you add a member, it says it will bring over the members personal files. I tested this by adding my personal Dropbox account but cannot find where my personal files would be. When I go to remove my personal account, it asks to keep or delete my personal files. Why would I want anyones personal files and why would they be deleted when they're their own files?Solved1.2KViews0likes1CommentI need to add an email address as secondary, but it's already in use.
Hi! I'm an independent contractor for a company, and I set up a Dropbox account with my new email address. However, I upgraded my freelance business account to Dropbox Plus and would like to make the contractor email a secondary email on that upgraded account. That way, I'll be able to see files/folders shared with either email address in Dropbox, and the upgraded plan will give me more storage space and features. Because the contractor email is already in use with an account, it won't let me add it as a secondary email in the other account. Should I delete that account? It's warning me that deleting the account means I will no longer have access to anything previously shared with that email address. Only a few folders have been shared so far, and I could have someone share them again, but I want to be sure I'm doing this the right way before I do something irreversible. I appreciate any insights you can provide! Thanks!Solved878Views0likes2Comments
