You might see that the Dropbox Community team have been busy working on some major updates to the Community itself! So, here is some info on what’s changed, what’s staying the same and what you can expect from the Dropbox Community overall.
Notifications
26 TopicsClose all Security alerts
Implement an option to close all (or multiple) security alerts: If you have DataLossPrevention and Sensible Data acitvated, you get freaking tons of Notifications. In this case I am 100% sure that all of them are not relevant. I have to open each individual of them and close them. Its not possible if you got 100+ notifications, it would take several hours.Solved513Views0likes3CommentsI've received a random email, is this legitimate?
Hi. I just received an Email headed - 'Please don't ignore: Your setup isn't complete' The sender Email address is - 'no-reply@em-s.dropbox.com' I was just concerned if it's legit? I'd noticed similar discussions on this community, but not recently. Could anyone advise if I should click on the link? I use Dropbox reasonably regularly, and reckon any 'setting up' processes should have been long since completed. Thanks.Solved256Views0likes1CommentOur users are getting emails from the Dropbox no-reply account to download a file, why?
Our end-users recently received an email fromno-reply@dropbox.comrequesting our users to download a file. It was from knownuser@outlook.comwhich is from a spammer using someone's real name. Have businesses just been blocking no-reply@dropbox.com? I have to admit it is a clever way to get around most security policies. A good link followed by a bogus file.448Views0likes5CommentsI received a notification about shared files. Was it a scam?
I just received a Dropbox notification that I had received a set of plans from a client, but when I went to look at the documents it told me they were sent to me via a OneDrive link, but when I clicked the link it took me to eBay. Now that I have done this i realize this has to be a scam, but now what do I need to do? How does stuff like this get through?597Views0likes1CommentThere should be a better warning before merging with a team account
Hi, I recently received a request from a client to merge with his team account, when what he wanted to do was send me a link to some files. It was his error. I was faced with a choice: open a new dropbox account (so I'd have two) or merge my account with his. It was early and I hadn't had enough coffee. I chose the latter and immediately received an email informing me that my Dropbox account had been cancelled, my money refunded, and all my files were no longer accessible. So, I had made an error too. His error plus my error took a day to undo, and my system is still the updating 220,000 files that had been backed up and had been instantly removed. Such a major change (cancellation of my account) should not be allowed to occur without at least one warning – something like: "Are you sure you want to cancel your Dropbox account? All your backups will be lost. You will only be a member of the team account." That would have probably avoided the stress and hassle, as at that point my spidey sense would have finally kicked in, and my Monday would have been saved. Thank you!822Views0likes1CommentI'm not receiving the notification to verify my Passwords account on my iPhone
I have Dropbox Plus with 2 TB of storage. I've been using Dropbox Passwords on one PC with Google Chrome browser and on my iPhone (14) with no real issues. That PC had a coffee incident and is in for repairs. I took the opportunity to buy a new (additional) PC. I'm trying to instal the Chrome extension for passwords on the new PC. It says it's sending a notification to my iPhone and the original PC for me to acknowledge. As far as I can tell that notification never makes it to my iPhone (I don't have the other PC at present to check. Then I try using Recovery Words - I can access them from the settings in the Dropbox Passwords app on my phone. I enter all 12 words very carefully and get told "Something went wrong, please try again". No amount of trying solves the issue.Solved1.1KViews0likes3CommentsWindows (10) keeps telling me that Dropbox wants to change files on my machine
Windows (10) keeps telling me that Dropbox wants to change files on my machine. I get the Account Protection security pop-up window multiple times a day and sometimes there'll be dozens of them in the morning. What's going on?1.5KViews0likes11CommentsWhy am I being asked to turn on accessibility on my new Mac computer?
Good Morning, I have a new computer and keep getting this message. I read the "Learn More" page and I need further information. I would like to see "Dropbox" on the side bar of my computer so I can easily access my account when I want to store files to Dropbox and not just on my computer but I don't need Dropbox to do anything else. I do not use it with a team. So, I don't want to have Dropbox accessing my whole computer and it seems like this is what the error code might be referencing. Sorry for the really elementary question but any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you.481Views0likes1CommentNo option to unsubscribe from marketing emails
It’s 101. No company should be sending emails without an unsubscribe button. How on earth do I do this? I don’t have a paid account and I can’t see this in my account section. Dropbox is now making me work for them for free. There’s nothing worse.478Views0likes3Comments
