Hi, I am really struggling with the set up of our business account. For background, we are a committee from various organisations, needing access to the same files. When you add a member, it says it will bring over the members personal files. I tested this by adding my personal Dropbox account but cannot find where my personal files would be. When I go to remove my personal account, it asks to keep or delete my personal files. Why would I want anyones personal files and why would they be deleted when they're their own files?Solved1.2KViews0likes1CommentPersonal files have been moved under Company Dropbox - want to have them separate.
Hi, I have had dropbox for long time privately. Have alot of data. Now I got request to join a company dropbox account. I could choose from 2 alternatives - to keep them separate or on the same login. I choose the same login, thought it sounded clever. But now it seems like all my private data is moved to be a sub folder under the company folder. Im still the only one to access my data, but I absolutely don’t want to have it like this. Do anyone know how to undo my “mistake” so I will have 2 separate logins/accounts – 1. my private and 2. the company that I was invited to. I have stopped the sync of Dropbox, it is +100 GB. Very greatful for your help. Kind regards, JohanSolved1KViews0likes3CommentsPersonal account linked to wrong email address, after separating it from Business team
I had a personal account linked to email A. I was invited to a team from my work and I decided to keep both accounts separated, so when the option was given I choose to create a new account using email B, which is my work email. Now all my personal stuff is linked to the account of email B, instead of the other way around, and my email A is now linked to my job's team. I tried to abandon the team, but seems that only admins can remove someone from a team (!!). How can I solve this situation? This is critical, I have years of very important stuff in my personal account. My personal account was plus and the account from my organisation is business.673Views0likes4CommentsBrain-dead linked-account renaming scheme doesn't reverse when unlinking
My personal dropbox suggested I link my corporate account, at which time it did something totally user-hostile, that is, it just went ahead and renamed my Dropbox to "Dropbox (personal)". So now wherever I had terminal scripts that referenced this directory, buh bye, they're dead. Not only that but on the mac, that directory cannot be entered into from zsh. From ~ you literally cannot "cd Dropbox" even though a simlink is there..... to the wrong directory! This is a terrible design choice. I get that Dropbox makes money from corporates, but I pay for my personal account (2TB) and I absolutely do not want my corporate account to MESS with my personal one, which is much more important to me. Moreover, I'm a consultant that changes employers every year or so. Imagine the mess. Why can't they just leave plain old "Dropbox" there, and then create a new "Dropbox (corpo-name)". Moreover, unlinking the accounts, doesn't revert everything back to how it used to be. What a mess. Seriously gonna leave Dropbox.643Views0likes1Comment
