When I search my files, it will be great to have the feature of seeing/noting the file path. The current feature is set to just show the files referenced in the search. The file path is critical to my needs to save as favorite(s) as an example.35Views1like4CommentsDisable "Suggested from your activity" permanently
Hi there, I absolutely hate the feature "Suggested from your activity". I would like to see a checkbox in settings that allows a user to disable that permanently and have the cleanest possible view of file(lists) and folders. The "Suggested from your activity" feature always shows my family photos or, like today, a preview of my tax form. Whenever I open dropbox in the office to browse my files, all my work colleges can see these previews too. The icon that hides it, is only remembering the setting as long as one does not delete cookies from the browser. At our company, it is policy to delete cookies every day at the end of the day. So this "hiding" setting is pretty useless for me. More over, please make it possible to have a clean, minimalistic UI without all the fluff, super big blue buttons and "easy access" helpers. Some people don't need it. It is distracting and disturbing.25KViews74likes33CommentsCan't preview photos in Dropbox folder when files are online-only
One of my team members updated to a new computer and now she cannot see any previews for photos that are online only. It is important for our workflow to see the image previews online only becausee we work with thousands of images in our catalogs. I am on an older Mac but both of us are on the same OS (15.3) and I can see previews no problem. Contacted DB support and they did not fix the issue. Tried a "hard reinstall" as supposed by DB support but did not work. They are not offering any other help which is very disappointing considering how many licenses we pay for. Anyone else able to fix this issue? Thanks in advance for your help!59Views0likes5CommentsChange the default PDF viewer
Please allow users to indicate their preferred pdf viewer app. Many Dropbox users use another pdf viewer app and it is inconvenient to use Open With to select that app. As well, it is inconvenient to be presented with Adobe Reader whenever a user simply selects a pdf document for viewing.24Views0likes3CommentsThe previews of my camera uploads photos appear smaller on the Windows desktop app.
Hi, Normally when I browse through my camera uploads on my PC, I can see the pictures on the right side of the screen when I push "Example". These pictures are large. Now however I do not see anything at the most of the pictures, and small pictures on others. Dropbox is set to sync pictures so that they are available off line. Can anyoune help solve this? Thanks in advance Regards Esben90Views0likes19CommentsHow to change order of subfolders within a folder?
How can I change the order of subfolders within a folder (on the Dropbox web app). I don't see any way to rearrange the order in which the folders appear. Many web apps allow one to simply drag drop to reorder folders. Can this be done in the web app, and if not, can it be done in the Mac app?29Views0likes3CommentsVideos are choppy when I upload or download from Dropbox
Hi all, When I upload videos I've taken on my phone to Dropbox, they're completely choppy when I play them back in my synced Windows folder. When I play them back on Dropbox web version they're okay, but when I download them from there, they're choppy again. They seem to be okay when I open them with Photos, but not Media Player. Regardless, if I then upload to Canva, they're choppy, and I need to be able to edit them specifically in Canva. I desperately need a solution. I've seen that other people have had this problem too but I can't see any solutions offered. I'm viewing them as MP4 files. Thanks, Jules620Views1like7CommentsWhen opening a Word doc on the web, its original font appears in bold.
My office shares and edits unlinked docs and I'm then responsible for accepting the edits and uploading the final doc to Dropbox. Recently, I've been unable to upload the doc with it keeping its formatting and fonts. It will be formatted correctly on my OS desktop but when I save it and upload it, the fonts in the preview are bold. When I then go to open it in word for the web, I get this error: If I choose to open it in reader view, it reverts back to the correct formatting. I have checked and the font is in my font book and have no clue what could be causing this. formatting on my desktop app Formatting after uploading and opening in preview Formatting after opening as read only in word for web Thanks in advance for any guidance.41Views0likes5CommentsAdding the ability to mute files in the video player while in the mobile app.
Right now there doesn't seem to be a way to mute the video player without turning off the volume of the device in the mobile app. I often want to look at some video files (that don't actually have any audio) while listening to some music. But the app essentially forces me to pause my music so that the video can play in the app. A mute function shouldn't be too difficult to implement and would improve quality of life.17Views0likes1Comment
