I can't access files shared with me by others via links
I have my own dropbox but independently, for work things, I been given access to files and folders in various other people's dropboxes recently but for some reason I get an error msg and can't access them. These are open files to everyone and it is not just one time / company - it's happening with courses I have paid for, with press media files that are available just generally, people who send me general links to files - I always get this error: Error Something went wrong. Don’t worry, your files are still safe and the Dropbox team has been notified. Check ourStatus Pageto see if there is a known incident, ourhelp centreandforumsfor help, or go back tohome. I have checked the installer, checked my own dropbox syncs etc. My own files are fine and so I can't see the issue. It has happened without about 5 different companies giving me access - that I can't see the files - which are open to the general public if you have been sent the link. What can I do?
Zip file can not decompress Mac OS X
Hello DB. I have now, on multiple occasions, had clients write me that when they download a folder I sent them, the resulting .zip file will provide an error when decompressed. I have myself recreated this on a Macbook Air M2 on OS X Monterey and Big Sur. The downloaded zip file has the correct size, but is corrupt. Best, Tor
Report information that shows a file has been downloaded by intended recipient
I would like to suggest a report feature that shows the date (and time?) that a file has been downloaded by the intended recipient. This will help us keep track of the files that need to be downloaded as well as enable us to clean up our file directory.I'm not sure which option to select to download all photos from a shared link.
I've received an email with a link to a dropbox with photos. When I open the link, the photos are listed by their names and extension .jpg. I don't know what to do next. The page has "Extract all," "Comment," "a comment box, " "a down arrow" and a "copy link." All I want to do is to save them to a thumb drive connected on the Macbook pro computer. How do I do this, please?
Disabling downloads on a shared folder.
Hi , I want to share a folder with people but would like to prevent them from downloading the files on this folder. i have made the changes in the settings and shared the link- they can download...is there no way to prevent downloading from a shared link? please help thanks LiorI disabled downloads when sharing my files, but people can still save their preview on their device.
I signed up for Dropbox Essentials in order to share images securely through Dropbox, without folks being able to download them -- i.e. by turning on the "disabling download" feature. However, even with the disable download feature turned on (so people cannot click the download button), people can simply drag the images to their desktop or right click and select "Save Image As," which defeats the entire purpose of the disable download button. Any solution to this? May have to find a different way to share photos without people being able to download.
"This file type is unsupported here" error when previewing a PDF file online
I made a new PDF, and colleague unable to open in their dropbox account (online). Never had a prob with PDF's before AND it opens fine in my own dropbox.com account (online) It opens fine in other PDF apps as well (Reader, etc..)
