15 TopicsDropbox changes the modification and creation dates on all folders on the desktop app.
This is a problem since I cannot locate the most recent folders out of thousands easily. I use Drive for other backup items and it doesn't change my dates. Please fix this issue. I've seen others on the Community requesting the same fix.293Views0likes4CommentsHaving notes available to each file uploaded to the account.
As a content creator, I frequently collect video clips and photos to demonstrate examples of my discussions. However it may be weeks, or even several months before I am ready to use those files. There is no way for me to remember the source, the circumstances, the story and/or details around those files. Rather than creating very lengthy names for these items to describe them, I'd love a way to add a note when they are saved. It would be very helpful to also have a note feature available for my subfolders for the same reason. Thanks for listening!373Views0likes2CommentsHow do I make my public link reflect the most recent updates to a folder?
I have a public link containing different folders that I share with co-workers but they always complain that they never know which folder is the most recently updated because it doesn't show the last date modified in the public link. Is there a way I can get that to show or at least organize it to have the most recent folders show first? This is how it looks when my co-workers see it.1.3KViews0likes1CommentCan I change how folders are sorted in the Selective sync settings?
All users at my company are incredibly frustrated with the seeming locked sorting method of the desktop app. It is different even from their Dropbox web sorting method. Files on the desktop app are sorted Alpha-numerically, rather than the traditional numerical sorting. For example: Traditional Sorting (Dropbox Web, Windows Explorer, etc.): 1, 2, 3, ...9, 10, 11, ...22, ...45, ...105, ...1052, etc. (I've omitted many numbers, but this illustrates traditional ascending by name (or number)). Feel free to test this - create a blank folder, and subfolders within. Confusingly, the engineers of the Dropbox Desktop App have locked in a sorting method that seems to sort the numbers alphabetically. For example (using the same numbers from before): 1, 105, 1052, 11, 2, 22, 3, 45, 9. It is beyond frustrating to have such an unconventional sorting method applied. If someone has found a way to fix this. You'd be a life saver.386Views1like1CommentAdding an automation that will automatically provide a transcript for each of the newly uploaded.
Amazing and extremely useful automation addition. Would be of use right now well don’t need it but it would be way helpful than what I’m gonna do, being going one by one on new files. please consider: adding an automation that will automatically provide a transcript for each of the newly uploaded videos or audio files this would make an editors daily life way way more efficient and therefore extremely content and grateful for having such a great subscription with Dropbox not to mention to be an avid stock holder in the stock market as I only invest in great companies. Please let me know if this is a possible function or if I could input it myself on my end for now. It would be great to have it as one of the options included in the automation dropdown menu, as the convert files to options when adding an automation in a newly created file folder thank you very much for reading this and considering this you wouldn’t regret knowing about this amazing idea as I believe it would be something that most of your users will use what do you guys think if anyone is willing to make it, I am open to help. Please bring me along with your journey I would love to see the process as well as be more knowledgeable in the programming & developing world. I appreciate it! When I create a link to a video to use on social media, the users go to a pop-up which suggests the download the Dropbox app to see the video. Way down at the bottom after a bunch of words, there is a message that they can go directly to the video by seeing it on a website. I want the option to skip the pop-up and go directly to the video. I have had many users tell me they couldn't see the video. Your average user doesn't read through a whole bunch of words and get to the bottom of the page before they see the link. And, the link is actually not very clear. These users don't want the Dropbox app on their phone. If they did, they would already have it. I pay for this service and I would rather not have what is an essence an advertisement keep people from being able to see the videos I post.4.1KViews0likes2Comments
