Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could customize our Dropbox folders to make them more visually appealing and easier to organize? I think adding more options to personalize folders could make a big difference, and I’d love to hear what others think about this idea! Here are a few features I’d suggest: Folder Colors: Imagine being able to color-code your folders—so much easier to spot what you need at a glance! Custom Icons: A simple icon, like a music note for your playlists or a book for your eBooks, could make folders feel more intuitive. This icon could be applied to the already existing folder image, or replace the folder with just an icon. Upload Your Own Images: Personalize your workspace with photos or unique images as folder covers—practical and fun! These tweaks wouldn’t just look great; they’d make organizing and navigating files so much smoother. Plus, other platforms already offer similar options, and it would be awesome to see Dropbox join in! If you think these features would be helpful, let’s make some noise and get Dropbox to consider them. What are your thoughts? Do you have other ideas for folder customization? Let’s chat in the comments and show the Dropbox team how much we’d love this!4Views0likes0CommentsDoes the file request upload size limit affect trial plans?
The documentation states the following, but despite multiple attempts to upload a 250GB file through the file request feature, it consistently results in an error and the upload does not complete. Since we are currently conducting a Proof of Concept (PoC) and using the Dropbox Business Plus Trial plan, could this limitation be due to the trial version? Customers on Dropbox Professional, Essentials, Business, Business Plus, Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise can receive files up to 250GB in size. What’s the best way to sync large files across multiple devices in Dropbox without running into storage limits or slow upload speeds? Are there specific settings or features that can help optimize this process?Solved426Views0likes3CommentsI tried to upload a folder via file request, but nothing happened. Has it been uploaded?
I have received a file request from another user, to upload a folder into his storage "area". I got the email, clicked the link, and got a window with a file submission area. I pressed the upload button. There was no response, no "upload started" or "progress" message. I cannot tell if the folder is being uploaded or has been uploaded. Eventually I can ask the requester if he got the files, but that is potentially a tedious back-and-forth process (especially if the upload failed, or didn't even start). Is there a way for the non-requester to verify that the file is being uploaded?22Views0likes2CommentsUploading images/videos from iPhone resets the name to today's date instead of its creation date
Hello Dear Dropbox-Team, I find it very useful that Dropbox changes the names of my images and videos to this uniform format "[Foto|Video] DD.MM.YY, HH MM SS.[jpg|png|mp4|...]" when I upload them from my iPhone using the client. For example, my image named "IMG_1234" will be named "Foto 01.01.20, 12 59 55". This helps me a ton to organise my images/videos on a separate drive by sorting by name, since the date is embedded in the filename. Unfortunately, this does not work for all images. After uploading some of my images, the creation date is reset to today's date, which breaks this organisation system. I have not changed the metadata on these images, but it still happens. Is there a way to make the naming convention consistent, propably with a fix? Thank you in advance for answering my question 🙂400Views0likes9CommentsGenerate a unique email address for "Email to Dropbox" based on usernames.
For Emailing to Dropbox, they use a 5 random-word list model... so something like: ecology.tastey.pillow.depth.example @addtodropbox.com There is a big problem with this... both for Dropbox and their users. It's a nightmare to use. Try telling a client that URL. Result: NONE USE. They should use a user generated model with tight guidelines. so Something like: DigitalMarketing1000@ or RickStark100@ Easy to Pick a winner - easy for the user to use. THAT is what we want. There is easily a million easy options for both users above. So why do they do it? This model is easy for the IT department - the computer geeks decided... not the marketing dept. / user advocates. If DB is looking for EASE OF USE for their CUSTOMERS... then go to the trouble of user created addresses. Their current model is EASY FOR THEM... but poo for the user. Let me ask you: Do these super-duper-really-long-multi-word-URLS-seem-very-usable-to-you dot question? Do they seem like they would be popular to users to you? If your answer is NO - then THAT is why adoption is low for emailing to dropbox and I and millions of others don't use it. Switch to a tougher (user-generated address), but better for the consumer, model. Go for usable... which is above functional. Thoughts? Support? When interacting with the API, I get a path/not_found error. This happens when I upload a file to dropbox using the path /2/files/upload. After that, I create a link to the file using the path /2/sharing/create_shared_link and specify the path_display received after uploading the file. The error occurs very rarely, but it does not allow you to get a link. What could be the problem?38Views0likes1CommentI can't open/edit/upload files inside my desktop app

I pay for Dropbox Plus and have heaps of cloud space to upload to. Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to upload a 250GB folder whether I use the website or the Desktop APP. Am I missing something fundamental or is 250GB over a limit. It's driving me nuts. Thanks for any help. Vic24Views0likes3Comments
