Sharing of folders inside the Apps/ folder
I have an application (madoko.net) where users rely on shared folders in dropbox to cooperate.
However, I now need to give the application access to a users' entire dropbox and I would like to make it a restricted application under Apps/Madoko. Unfortunately, currently users are unable to share folders inside the Apps subfolder.
Since the introduction of the recent sharing API I was hoping to see dropbox supporting this too. Is this feature still planned??
Thanks!,

I also need this feature. We are using dropbox for business and want to have apps put files in dropbox as a means of distributing data. Ideally the apps would have restricted access and folder sharing could be used.

@Steve M - I think you are hearing loud and clear from your customers that this is an important feature for us. I pay more for Dropbox every month than any software or service. Your service comes at a premium and for that we expect leading edge features. It's great to have Apps and integration with other software.. But most of these integrations involve us getting the files so we can SHARE the files on dropbox. If we cant share the files we get access to from your awesome integration coding, or if we have to do a ton of workaround to make sharing possible, the Apps folder is not very useful, and we start to look outside Dropbox to meet our needs.

Please do so :-)
I feel it is very important from a security/privacy standpoint to start supporting this feature.
Moreover, since there is already a rich sharing API in place, it seems like it should not be too hard to make this work on Apps folders too -- right? - Chris Q.1New member | Level 1
+1 - My app folder contains all of our customer quotations and information (BaseCRM). The rest of the team cannot access those quotes unless they are duplicated (which is bad version control and defeats the point). Some form of sharing other than copied links is essential.

I'd also like to request this, I have an app folder where most of my client information is stored. I'd like to share that folder with my assistant.

Definitely need to be able to share app folders. I can't have this account along with my personal account on my desktop so must log in via the web and copy files into a second folder that I can share. I will need to do this several times a week. Either let me have two (non-business) Dropbox accounts on my desktop or, preferably, let me share app folders.
