Downloading my stored files from Dropbox to my computer

When I attempt to download files I previously stored on Dropbox, all I get on my computer is an empty zip file with the same name as the folder on Dropbox. What do I have to do to actually retrieve the files I previously uploaded?

  • Switching to another browser seems to have helped. Thanks for the tip.

Hey Andy69, welcome to our Community!

Is it safe to assume you're using our website, in order to download your folders locally to your device? If not, feel free to clarify.

Does this happen with all of your folders, or some specific ones? If I were you, I'd also try using a different browser entirely, just to exclude the possibility of this being a browser-related issue.

Let me know of any updates!

I had the same problem. I have a Mac and was using Safari to upload and download to DB. Then suddenly about 3 months ago I was not able to download. Someone suggested to me that this might be an issue caused by the app 1Password that I was using. I now upload with Safari, but download with Firefox or Chrome.
