Hi beanbean - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Could you please clarify your device's exact OS version and the version and status of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your menu bar?
Also, can you take a look at the app's preferences and let us know your Dropbox folder's location as shown in the sync tab?
Did you try reinstalling the app since you first noticed this by the way?
Let us know and we'll take it from there!
Hi -
Running OS Sonoma 14.4.1
The status of the dropbox app in the menu bar is fine -- it's currently backing up an external drive; no sync issues.
Sync tab shows the location in my library:
/User/myname/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox
I'm pretty sure it will clear up if I quit and restart (it did before), but wonder if there is something else that's causing the location to disappear since it happened again so soon after the last restart.
Thanks for the additional information beanbean - much appreciated.
Apart from rebooting your computer, have you tried refreshing your Finder's window by any chance?
If not, could you give it a go and let me know if it helps?
Hi -
I have used Command+Up Arrow then Command+Down Arrow on the finder window, and I've opened many other windows with the same result.
I copied the dropbox over into my Favorites in the sidebar for now, but since Dropbox itself moved it from my Favorites into the Locations, this is just a workaround so I can save documents.
As soon as I did that, the very next time I tried to save a downloaded document, the dropbox is now showing again in the Locations area of the sidebar.
