Notification when copying files to my external drive
Dear Community,
I'm in a group and share a few files with my team but I'm not the admin.
I would like to copy some files from Dropbox desktop to my exernal drive. Do the admin get notified when I do that? Is the operation saved somewhere in the records?
Thanks and regards,
Ryanrud
If you just copy and paste them then no they wont be informed.
- JayDropbox StaffHi ryanrud, thanks for posting on the Community!
If you have files synced to your computer, and are visible in your Dropbox folder, then copying those files to another drive wouldn't be detected by Dropbox.
This means that the team admin wouldn't be aware of the download either.

Great thank you!
- Ash9352Explorer | Level 4I want to copy some files from shared dropbox to my external driver without notifying the business admin?
Is there any solution?
If I synced the file first, from online only to offline, would admin be notified? - DerekGNew member | Level 2
