Problems When Using IDM To Download a Big Single File on Dropbox

Since you're using a third-party app, it'd be super helpful for us to have the full picture of the steps that you take.
I'd definitely appreciate something like a short guide on how you're using this app, to download content from Dropbox. Also, you mentioned you're using your own account to add the file, can you clarify if you're using a shared link, or another method?
Is there a way to download a shared link to the desktop app so synching and resuming download is possible? I am also using IDM to download Dropbox file shared from a client, I tried for days with no luck, also why is the Download link being expire and can't be resume in IDM? is there any possible reason to do this besides producing hassle to user ends? or just another pretentious security to mimic relaibility? The desktop app says I have a limit of 2gb when synching to a shared file which I am baffled since I am only doing it to be able to download the file without pulling my hairs out. I don't want to upgrade to a paid account since I am not using this platform for anything important besides downloading a file from my client. I've been punching air and cursing to cure my frustration about this sharing platform hope you can help me. Cheers.

Dropbox has major serious problem with download manager especially IDM. The problems that I faced when downloading a large file (let's say around >3GB) are listed below :-

1) It will download only with one connection, not the usual 8-16 connections like from other sites.
\n
2) The download speed is capped to 30Mbps while I have 100Mbps connection
\n
3) The download will fail after reaching specific point due to timeout error and cannot be resumed.
\n
4) Getting 403:Forbidden/409:Conflict errors when try to resume with refreshed link.
\n
\n
This needs to be sorted out as soon as possible.

As for your first question, you can click on the \"Copy to Dropbox\" option, after opening your shared link, to add those files to your account, which will also sync them to your desktop app locally.

IDM is not at fault here. What I was implying that the download link address you guys provides expires after a couple of hours while downloading. This hinder IDM or any other downloading software to resume the download. I've tried using desktop browser, chrome, edge, brave, firefox and then jdownload and IDM still doesn't work. Nothing is working normally, my downloada speed is capped at 5mbps so downloading a 12-20gb file takes some hour, and due to that the link expires before I could finish the download. But I doubt you would address this since I am not a premium user. I ditch my client threatening him if he won't change cloud storage I am gonna quit my job, he then uses Google Drive now, so I think my comment is moot now.
