Hi Everybody,
Thank you so much for reporting that everything is back to normal. Our engineering team implemented a fix that should restore visibility of photos in the Photos tab. If you're still experiencing any issues, let us know and I'll make sure that information is passed along.
Thanks,
Ben

No this issue has not been resolved for me. As stated above, media in the Camera uploads folder and its sub-folders have now reappeared on the Photos tab but media in other folders are still missing. All media in all folders used to be shown, this is not currently the case. Your partial fix worked for Camera uploads, it now needs to be applied to other folders as well.

Thank you DBX_Pedro, yes of course you can use that email although I don’t think I can offer you any more information.
I see a new version of the app has been released and I have updated one device, so I now have an iPhone on app version 396.2.6 and an iPad on version 398.2.2 but both are showing the same results.
Camera uploads media contents are visible on the Photos tab but other folders media contents are not.
I look forward to a fix being released.

Thanks for trying to help schoereli , but yes I have reset many times since Friday. If you scroll back to the first page of this thread you will see this is one of the first things I tried. At least I only have a few hundred photos in my account at the moment so it doesn’t take long to do the reset.

Thanks for the update DBX_Pedro. I am glad you haven’t forgotten about this as it is still an issue, however I have discovered a workaround.
Pics in Camera uploads appear in the Photos tab, pics in other folders do not. If you move pics from another folder into Camera uploads they will then appear. If you then move them back out they do not disappear even though they are no longer in Camera uploads. If you ‘clear cache’ and then ‘reset photos tab’ they remain in the Photos tab even though the pics are now in another folder. So something must happen to the pic file as it is moved in (or out) of Camera uploads that allows it to then be picked up for displaying in the Photos tab later no matter where it is at that time. I hope this is helpful.

There is still a fault in your software but for me, personally I no longer have a problem as I have found my own fix.
I will leave it up to your conscience to decide whether you close this as resolved or continue to investigate to prevent future problems for other users.

Hi .... IOS devices working ok ... Viewing photos via the website isn't working for us now ... It was for a while but extremely slow. however no photos are loading at all now.
Just having to politely vent here 🙂
On top of other ongoing reported glitches we have had photo indexing issues for several weeks when viewing photos via a browser.
I had hoped this outage indicated that Dropbox were trying to fix the problem. This known indexing issue has been escalated to engineering who are aware of the problem via a support ticket.... no communication, so it seems not.
What has happened to the software quality control, why are there now so many issues ?Last night we watched a new OneDrive Microsoft Teams event. No champagne, audiences or any other nonsense, just several individuals presenting for thirty minutes some very impressive updates to their OneDrive - Search, Photos mobile platform and storage plans.... take a look.
We have been a paying customers since 11/2008, however we're moving on for the foreseeable I'm afraid - sigh
