Are the files truly deleted when we delete an account?

Hello,

I have a question regarding File restoration. A few years ago I deleted my dropbox account, I recreated it more recently but as you may know all files/pictures were gone. Are the files truly deleted? I read if you upgrade your membership they can be recovered after 1 year of deletion, looking to see if I pay for an subscription can I restore these files/pictures hopefully.

  • No, the files are truly deleted - you deleted the account so everything is wiped. There is no way to recover.

180 day recovery is possible for paid users who stay paid users and have the plan at point of deletion.
