I have had tbe same problem which extends to being unable to attach a dropbox file to my android Gmail - unless I "save to device" first. I've asked Dropbox and they've been of no help. I think the problem lies in Microsoft discriminating in favour of Drive, even though my Dropbox account is attached to 365 in settings. Still waiting for a solution to this very irritating problem.
