I get this error when trying to permanently delete a folder in my trash. I checked, as suggested in the other discussion about this, and the folder is not shared (this was the problem in the other discussion). In fact, I am the only user on my account and have zero shared folders. I believe the problem is because the large amount of files within the folder, there are 37k, but I could be wrong. I have tried to delete again, as suggested by the error message, and from a different web browser (chrome, edge, and firefox), as suggested in the other discussion, all to no avail. I can not open the deleted folder to select files to manually delete, all though even if I could then it would be too tedious due to the large number of files. In general, I would really appreciate a clear all trash button or even better, an option to completely turn trash off.Solved32Views1like4CommentsI get an error that I don't have permission to restore one of my deleted folders.

I see the folder when I click "show deleted folder" but when I want to activate it, it tells me, that I am not allowed to do this. This is crazy, because it was my folder. What can I do and who can help to get thsi folder back.341Views0likes8CommentsFiles disappeared from Mac and getting an error message when I click on a folder
Hello, I am having similar issues to this below forum - https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Apps-and-Installations/Impossible-to-access-my-files-documents-downloads-and-desktop-on/td-p/626184 One day I got on my iMac and all of my files were gone, with only this folder/label in my downloads folder - when I click, an error message pops up saying " The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “My files in Dropbox” can’t be found." I am trying to find out where all of my files went, as they are not in my Dropbox account. Appreciate any help!182Views0likes2CommentsI'm unable to move a folder back to the team space from my personal folder
I saw a question like this in the forum, but the instructions don't seem to apply to me. I noticed that a folder my whole team has access to is now in my personal folder within the team/business Dropbox account. People still have access, but it is in the wrong place. I assume I accidentally dragged it in there. The instructions I've found say I should be able to hover over the folder, see the 3 dots, and select "move," but "move" is not an option that comes up when I do that. When I try to copy or drag the folder out of my personal folder to the main team folder, the message says I can't do that, because I need special permission. I am the account admin (business owner), so it seems like I should have permission to do anything, but apparently I don't. What steps can I take?2.1KViews0likes18CommentsCan't Delete Files, too many files but they are not.
This is seriously frustrating. Ive been doing a big clean up on my SSDs today and part of that was moving dropbox from one hard drive to a larger one. Which I have done successfullly. however restructuring the dropbox sub folders has not synced in the cloud and my old folders keep getting pulled down onto my drive creating massive amounts of duplicates. the new folders are not syncing back up to the cloud either. Anyway I understand that part of this is because I need to delete folders from the cloud to stop them from syncing back down to the desktop app. But when I try to delete certain folders I am getting "error too many files" (even though there might only be 3 or 4 files in the folder). And when i click into the folder to delete the files one by one i get "error could not delete file" (ffs can we please get some sort of error logging and not this generic bs) I am the owner of these files. I have checked. They are not open or being held by any system process. I am logged out of the desktop application. Wtf is going wrong?1.2KViews0likes6CommentsUnable to save a file after editing it on my Mac

I am getting the 'There are too many files in this request. Please try with fewer files' when trying to delete some folders. I have turned off the desktop app and the issue still persists. How can I get support for this?211Views0likes3CommentsA shared Excel file is missing and an error "the file format or file extension is not valid" appears
I am the owner of a shared excel file that is now missing. I cannot see it listed, it is not in my deleted items. I went to my events, and see that the document was edited 2 weeks ago by a colleague. When I try to open it I get the message that " the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file." Advice?193Views0likes1CommentCan I delete some files from an old unlinked backup or save them to my Dropbox account?
I have a back-up from an old desktop I want to manage. I want to delete *some* files from this back-up, without deleting the old back-up. As a first step, I unlinked it, but in the web UI, when I try to delete a folder, it tells me to unlink it (again... despite already being unlinked). Any insight? Thanks in advance.238Views0likes3Comments
