Cannot edit files in synced folders on my Windows machine
I cannot copy anything to the synced Dropbox folders on my PC because "it needs administrator rights".
I cannot add or delete anything directly in the PC folders.
I have to use the web interface...

Hi @Jay,
In the meantime I managed to find the solution.
My Dropbox folder was assigned a drive letter, and the share rights were not properly set. The problem emerged only when I used the substitute drive letter.
Thanks for the effort!

Hi jbaliko, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Is your computer a company-managed device, or a personal machine?
Have you tried reinstalling the Dropbox desktop application with administrator rights using these steps?
Keep me posted!

Thanks for the update, and I'm happy to hear you found a solution.
Just to check, do you have a custom setup which assigned a drive letter for the Dropbox folder, since this isn't part of the normal Dropbox app process?

Hi @Jay,
Yes, this is a custom solution, to make the folder access easier.
Let's say that after the installation the default Dropbox folder is something like "C:\users\username\dropbox", but after that I manually assign the drive letter D to this folder.
The Dropbox app does not even know that there is a drive D, it uses the original folder path, and that worked well.
So my original issue was not related to the Dropbox app.
