Photo albums disappeared
Hi Can somebody please help me as all my Albums not files have disappeared. I have hundreds of pictures stored in these albums and need them back? Look for to hearing back from people

Hey Martyn, sorry to jump in here, but I just want to clarify that we have recently made a change to the Dropbox Android mobile application that has removed the "Albums" from the Photos tab. This change didn’t remove photos or videos you’ve uploaded to the app.
You can still find your uploaded photos and videos in the Photos tab or at dropbox.com/photos
For this and more common fixes for the Android app, you can check out this Help Center article.
I hope this helps!

Hi Hannah
Yes it is the Dropbox app on my Samsung 21s ultra and also my Samsung tablet.
Most of the pictures are in photos but go back years. All my albums have disappeared.I could press down on a picture then the album option would appear but doesn't now!
Thanks
Martyn

- Alanedempsey3 years agoNew member | Level 2This is such a bad decision. Must of been made by someone who doesn't use the album function or doesn't have a clue. Have been a paying customer for more than 10 years, and all of my important photos such as kids birthdays sorted into albums. They are all disappeared. And before you tell me the photos are not, ye I know but do you think I have time to be scrolling through thousands of photos to find what i am looking for?
Going to look at an alternative for Dropbox now as there must be a bunch of morons running it.... - dkovac3 years agoNew member | Level 2
Dear Dropbox!
As a person who works in IT for 25 years I can say that you've handled this very poorly.
Personally, I haven't used albums that much (because they were hard to use, and the sharing was not working all the time), but I can imagine that many people have spent a great amount of effort to organize their photo collections into albums and now you have just destroyed that effort without giving them any kind of alternative or event automatic migration of albums into folders (or something).
As a paying customer I'm wondering what's going on at Dropbox to make such poor decisions, and if I should perhaps think about taking my files elsewhere?

Wow. I can't believe that Dropbox would just unceremoniously and without warning delete people's photo albums. I too had spent a lot of time organizing photos. The worst part, apart from losing all that organization is that it makes me NOT TRUST dropbox anymore. What else are they going to do with our files without telling us? A least a warning would have been nice, so we could move them somewhere else. Sigh. My work has been trying to get me to switch over to onedrive and I've always held on to dropbox, partly for the photo organization. Maybe now is the time to make the change. I'm really disappointed.

Thank you for your response about Albums.
I totally understand changes are made often to apps but Dropbox sent no information regarding changes so I have lost all my albums now!!
Not happy is a understatement!
Thanks
Martyn- Lels3 years agoHelpful | Level 6I have also lost all of my albums! I spent month setting all of them up and sorting into events to quickly access and now they are all gone. No notice from Dropbox either of this change! How can I recover these albums????
- Piggy753 years agoHelpful | Level 6Hi
It's very frustrating and disappointing that there was no warning from Dropbox. Not sure you can retrieve them now...they say the pics are still stored but you would have to scroll all the way back through them....thats years of pics for my as had the stored room 2014!
So angry with dropbox
- Kaka673 years agoNew member | Level 2I agree. Very disappointed that the Albums have gone. I appreciate that the photos are still there but it was so much easier looking for an album now I have to scroll through thousands of photos. 😭😭

- Lels3 years agoHelpful | Level 6Walter, yes you can still see your photos but let's say you want to see you sons soccer photos that you have grouped into one place for the past 5 years. HOW would you suggest going about doing so now? Scroll through 5 years of photos and search each image to find the ones you previously grouped into an album? Why isn't anyone from Dropbox helping here?
- Munchym19493 years agoNew member | Level 2Exactly no one is talking to us.
- Piggy753 years agoHelpful | Level 6Hi
I understand that the photos are still stored in the app but scrolling back to find photos from years back isn't the same as opening a album! - dvarela173 years agoNew member | Level 2THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!! As many others have posted I spent HOURS, AND HOURS organizing my photos. So basically all my photos are there....along with every single file since I started using dropbox a million years ago (great!)!!!! HELLO GOOGLE!! GOODBYE DROPBOX!!!! TERRRRRIBLE!
