I have a parent folder with an automation that's supposed to rename every file in its subfolders to a certain format, but it's been very buggy on if it actually works or not... I don't know if it's just bugged or if there is a solution. I have a folder that I'm trying to move, I've tried moving it in all of the following: Web interface MacOS Finder Windows Explorer The web version just gives me a generic error like 'cannot move folder' etc. Trying it on Mac / Windows just results in a neverending 'Snycing' process. Weird problem. I manage do move a teamcatalogue on my pc to the hidden .dropbox.cache. It schwooosed there in there with a misclick in just a few seconds. And now the catalogue is stuck there, i can't move it back (you have no permission). I moved a LARGE file to my Dropbox so my boss could work from it for the weekend - soon learned this was a bad idea because of how long it took to upload. Now, I would like to move it back to just my local computer but it keeps telling me folder is in use. I have tried to "Quit" the Dropbox app and do it, thinking this would solve any "Sync pending" issues. I have also restarted computer (multiple times) thinking it would work. How can I restore the folder that I had moved instead of copying it from another Dropbox colleague. I need to "return" it to my colleague. I am not one who knows very much about this type of mistake. The Folder List will not populate when trying to copy of move files on the Dropbox website. I wish Dropbox had told me what the problem was the last time this happened. After way too much time addressing it then, issue just went away and resolved itself or Dropbox did something to fix it without telling me what it was. I'm actually a bit angry now that I wasted over an hour selecting items to copy only to get the same problem again (Chrome Aw Snap error and Edge page-problem errors after waiting for Folder List to populate) still with no idea on how to solve it other than to rant on this Community. Then wasted at least another 40 minutes just documenting the problem and putting together this post. I have done all of the troubleshooting (screenshots below), restarted laptop and used 3 different internet carriers. Folder List will not load on Chrome and on Edge (on regular, in cognito, and with extensions removed). Oh, in case you're wondering, my laptop has plenty of storage/capacity available. This is now a recurring Dropbox problem. My project should have been done hours ago but now I guess I'll have to go back and WRITE DOWN the file numbers from the Dropbox website and then do the copying on the laptop app. (I cannot do this project on the laptop app, because I need to see the photo/file details to know which ones I need to copy.) Please fix this (again) and then let me know what is causing this problem to recur so next time it happens I can fix it and avoid another project delay and then wasting even more time having to put together a Community post. macOS. Long-time user. Installed Dropbox on a brand new computer. Let everything sync. I tried to move a folder from Dropbox onto local storage on my Mac. A dialog came up asking (paraphrasing) if I wanted to move the folder or copy it (meaning a copy of the folder would be left in Dropbox). I answered incorrectly.
