Can I change the name of the link to a Dropbox folder ?
Hi:
I have a LinkedIn account for my work background, job hunting, etc.
LinkedIn allows you to upload documents, e.g., resumes to your Profile for others to view, but they cannot download them. On my resume, I include a link to my LinkedIn.com Profile so that potential employers can view additional information by just clicking the hyper-link.
LinkedIn allows you to change your Profile's LinkedIn link from what they originally assigned you to some thing more understandable; e.g., to
https://www.linkedin.com/in/myname,
where "myname" is a string of characters that I specify.
My Dropbox account has a folder that I created to hold resumes, etc.
I am able to link to this Dropbox folder to my LinkedIn Profile so that folks viewing my Profile can access my Dropbox Resume folder to download files.
Can I change the name of the Dropbox link (looks like an encrypted string) to my Resume folder to a more meaningful name (like the LinkedIn example given above), so that I could include it as a hyper-link on my Resume, so that viewers would be able to access the other documents in my Dropbox Resume folder ?
I created a link to my Dropbox resume folder from within LinkedIn, when I click on the Dropbox icon, instead of being taken to the Resume folder, I get the following pop-up box.
The viewer must then click the "Read Original" button to access my files.
Is there a way to bypass this dialog box, so that when someone clicks on my Dropbox link that they are taken directly to the folder linked to ?
Thank you

I'm guessing here, but it could be a way for LinkedIn to show someone that they're leaving the LinkedIn site and going to a third-party website. Other websites have done similar with a popup saying "You are about to leave [Company Name]'s website. Do you want to continue?"

No, you can't.

I've never seen such a dialog before. Perhaps it's related to how LinkedIn has implemented it? What happens when you open the link separate from LinkedIn? Do you still get that dialog or does it go straight to the folder?
Either way, there's likely no way to disable it.

Hi Rich:
Thank you for your feedback.
I get the above dialog box in LinkedIn from when I have used Dropbox's "link to folder" option for creating a link to insert into my LinkedIn Profile.
I just ran a test where I sent the folder link to myself in an email.
When I clicked on it, I was taken directly to the folder of files that I had linked to.
So, it appears that your hypothesis is correct, and it must have something to do with the way in which LinkedIn handles links to Dropbox folders.
Thank you for looking into this for me.

Hi Rich:
Thanks for your reply.
I have seen plenty of pop-up boxes stating "You are about to leave our website", so I understand what you are trying to convey to me. Usually, a new window opens for the redirected web site.
