Does Dropbox file transfer work faster than direct upload?
1/ Does Dropbox file transfer work faster than uploading the files to the cloud (via desktop or directly on web browser)?
2/ Or is the only reason you'd use Dropbox transfer is so you don't have to use any of your online storage account limit?
3/ Does the file transfer with the same exact internet transfer at the same speed wether or you use "dropbox transfer" or "uploading to dropbox"?

Hey studius_mary, thanks for posting your question.
We can't say for sure if uploading files for a transfer is faster or slower than uploading files to store in your account; is this something you've noticed on your end?
Syncing files through the desktop app is a complicated process and it can take time, of course.
Are you noticing any speed issues?
Let us know more and we'll happily investigate further.

Hi studius_mary!
The main reason to use Dropbox Transfer over regular sharing is that, when you're using Transfer, you're sharing a copy of the file / folder. When you share using regular Dropbox Sharing, the person you share with will continue to see any changes you make.
As an example:
- With regular Dropbox sharing, if I share a folder with you, and after the fact add additional pictures, you WILL see those pictures on your end.
- With Dropbox Transfer, if I share a folder with you, and after the fact add additional pictures, you WILL NOT see those pictures on your end.
Let me know if this helps!
