Force render issues (raw=1) and shared links won't work for hosting.
images were perfect on all browsers until yesterday afternoon - what is the fix or is this a dropbox issue?
We are rolling out a fix for issues with raw=1 and dl=1 links that started recently. Please try again and let us know if it's still not working.

My www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/....?raw=1 urls seem to be working again for a few minutes now. Both images and PDF files.
Did Dropbox reverse the change?- ЗдравкоLegendary | Level 20
They started (HTML redirect fixed), but still not embeddable - CORS.

All product images on my website have been uploaded using the links and changing them from "dl=0" to "raw=1". All products were displayed correctly up until Friday afternoon. Now all I see are broken image icons on all product photos. For reference, I have well over 200 images that are now no longer working. I've tried viewing the site from Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, and also tried incognito mode as well and it still shows broken image icons. Tried to sync all photos again with no luck. Below is a screenshot from this weekend.
Any suggestions?

Changing "https://www.dropbox.com" to "https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com" on every single image should make them work again. I did so with a script for more than 500 audios a while ago and everything is back to normal.

I currently have image files running and being shared [to anyone with the link] from Dropbox to be used on our company's emails. They are shared via links with the customization of adding "raw=1" at the end of the links so they can work [as I found online that is your way around using them for multi-link access purposes].
Currently we aren't receiving access to those images no longer but instead of the default image logo. Something stopped working. Was it the permissions? Did I go over the bandwidth of how many times those links in our email signatures could be shared?
Looking for help and a resolution to replace or fix.

Hello there,
normally I was able to embed audio files from my Dropbox on my homepage by changing dl=0 to raw=1 at the end of the shared link.
Now this is not working anymore. I guess this has to do with the new rlkey-Part in the Link? Is there a new way to get this done?
Many greetings,
Christoph

Not only do new hotlinks not render, old ones do not show up either
Firefox
Chrome
Brave
Opera
[links removed]
Yet hotlinks from other sites are no problem

Hi all
I run a site called Maths Advance and have a number of images stored on Dropbox which are then loaded into individual questions modules when users click on a question. I know now that I shouldn't have used Dropbox for these purposes and that other servers are better for website performance, but in any case it has been reliable up until now.
My question is why might some images now not be appearing for users? This has only been an issue in the last 48 hours, but needs to be fixed ASAP. All of the images are stored on Dropbox and some are loading, but others are not. The filetype and size of the file does not appear to be a critical factor.
Any ideas would be most welcome.

Much appreciated, thank you. Have Dropbox acknowledged this and indicated when it is likely to be fixed?

why the images I upload to Dropbox and display on my website suddenly crash, but when I check on Dropbox, the image files are still there. However, when I try to display them using 'raw=1' in the image URL, it crashes on my website.

Hi,
I'm running a couple of WordPress websites and using the FV Flowplayer plugin to show off my Dropbox videos.
I'm doing all of the usual edits, eg re-naming the end of the Dropbox file from dl=0 to raw=1 which was working fine up until a couple of days ago.
Since then, I get an error message: html5: Video not found: and regardless of how many times I refresh the websites' cache or indeed perform a 'Clear Browsing Data' on Chrome and Firefox (or a hard refresh with ctrl+f5), the error message remains.
How can the error message be fixed?
tia

Steve Raven

Do the links work if you paste them into a browser window directly? If so, then it's likely an issue with how the player tries to access the file. Dropbox links have a redirect in them (the final URL of the file is different from the link you're give by Dropbox). If the player isn't able to follow that redirect, it won't be able to load the file.
If the links work in a browser on their own, I'd go back to the plug-in creator and ask them to look into it. With the change to how links are generated, they likely need to update their plugin.

Thanks, Rich, I just tried a couple of different URLs in a browser window.
The link ending in raw=1 played immediately.
I also tried changing the link to the Dropbox original of dl=0, which just opened the file in the Dropbox web app, which is obviously why the raw=1 URL is preferred.
I'll get onto the plugin developer about this.

Yes there is a problem again for safari and google. no longer auto renders pics any more. We had no issue for months and now customers and forums wont auto render pics via Dropbox files???? We need to get this again worked out.

Happened to me a week ago in some browsers but not others. The redirect is the root cause.
To fix, change the www at the start of the link to dl.
For example: www.dropbox…. becomes dl.dropbox…

Yup adding the “dl” and removing the “www” worked. Your a rock star👍
Wonder why this just started?? I will inform my staff of this change.

They have (on quite a few occasions now) done things which have stopped things rendering on websites and response has always been the same - Dropbox isnt a hosting platform, its a tool to collaborate and share
