new computer vs old computer

i bought a second computer which i've installed dropbox on.  I'm still using my old computer for different purposes and i don't want it to have access to dropbox as i will be deleting files on there that i don't want to then have automatically deleted on the new computer.  Can i simply uninstall db on the old computer?

Hi mjones782, thanks for messaging the Community!

This would be correct, uninstalling the Dropbox desktop application on the old computer will prevent any changes in that Dropbox folder from syncing to your new computer.

If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.

so i uninstalled dropbox on the old computer, then i deleted a couple files on same computer.  almost immediately those two files were deleted on the new computer as well!

This would mean that the Dropbox desktop application isn't uninstalled fully. Could you try using these steps?

Glad to hear you were able to locate the issue. Are you still experiencing the same issue after disabling or uninstalling OneDrive?
