NOT syncing but NOT over limit/quota

Hi. I have a strange issue. Some time ago my Dropbox stopped syncing my files despite the fact that I haven't surpassed the storage limit (and there is no notification/indication of the storage being "full"). On the contrary, at my account I see a notification Upgrade soon to get more space proves that I have some unused space). Here are some numbers:

Regular files (3.9 GB), Shared files (876.8 MB), Unused space (546.4 MB)

Backup (0 bytes)

1) What can I do to solve this and restart the synchronization, please?

2.1) Am I currently at a potential risk that I have been unknowingly editing some files autonomously making "conflicting" versions on each of my devices?

2.2) In that case, which version will be preserved after restarting the synchronization process? The newest (I guess)?

Thank you kindly!

  • Problem solved! My boyfriend showed me that the Dropbox programme (on my laptop) needs to be opened and thus refreshed in order to start synchronizing. So we did that and I changed its settings to "Start Dropbox on system startup" (in Preferences).
But thank you for your time, anyway.

Hey sazenicka, thanks for joining the Dropbox Community and let's see what we can find out about your issue.

The first thing you'll need to check, is the sync status and version of the Dropbox app on your computer.

You'll need to hover over the Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar to see this info.

Also, when was the last time your files synced?

If you look in your account online, do you see older versions of your files instead of the newer ones?

Let me know and we'll go from there.
