Right click 'copy dropbox link' not working

I have recently gone through the difficult jounrey of transferring to a new latop... however, the process was remarkably smooth as all files are on dropbox!

I am having a problem though.

I like to share files and folders with other colleagues by sharing link to them and have always right clicked the "copy Dropbox" link - however this now does not show up when right clicking a file or folder.  I have closed everything and restarted the computer.  Not fixed.

I am running Windows 10 on a surface pro. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Help please!

Mike

Hi BPTSA Mike, thanks for joining the Community!

Are you experiencing this issue when right clicking on any file or folder in your Dropbox account, or is it just in a specific folder?

Could you try reinstalling the Dropbox desktop application, without uninstalling it first, by using this link to see if it helps?

    Keep me posted!

      Hi Jay,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have reinstalled and still have the same issue.

I can see the copy dropbox link on some folders but not many at all - here are the menus I see - the first is for one or two files and folders only (I have thousands) and the second is what most of them have.  There seems to be a whole set of different options?

      Any help gratefully received.

      Many thanks,

      Mike

The first image seems to show the normal choices when a file is in the Dropbox folder.

The second image is most likely for a file that isn’t in either Dropbox folder, which is why you’re getting the choice to send it via file transfer using your personal or business account. This is also why there’s no copy link option either.

Since it also say 'Unpin from Quick Access', it looks like this is an entire folder visible in the top left on Explorer, so it could be in a totally different location to your Dropbox folder.

Could you confirm if this is the case?
