Selective sync does not load folders

OS: macOS Sierra 10.12

I am unable to use selective sync. I open Dropbox Preferences > Account and click on Change Settings for Selective Sync. Dropbox opens a window and it says "Loading more folders..." And it just stays there forever. It will not bring up my Dropbox folders to check or uncheck for syncing.

    What he said.

This is super frustrating. I'm running macOS Sierra on a 2012 MacBook Pro Retina. Obviously a Dropbox bug if it's happening on Windows, El Capitan and Sierra. They need get on this, stat. Is there a phone number to call Dropbox?

+1 (Windows 10 - Pro account) . Spent all night reading other threads with this problem.  Saw one that said Dropbox has problems when you have over 300k files.  I had ~250k.  I moved most out of Dropbox and am now less than 3000 files total in my Dropbox folder.  Still won't populate the Selective Sync folder list.  The fact that there are so many posts in this thread as of Saturday makes me think this is a different issue though.  Really upsetting either way.  Thinking of switching to alternative storage solutions if not solved very soon.

Edit: Was just about to send a support request and looked over and saw that it had finally populated.  So, yeah, it looks like maybe it's not altogether broken, just ridiculously slow, even with less than 3k files. :/

Same here. I saw David B's message and tried it out.  Someone fed the hamsters?

My sync folders are also suddenly populating...it's magic!

I suppose dropbox folks are monitoring these threads. I also sent them a direct support request. Did anyone else send them one directly?

I did.  There was a number of Twitter conversations about this that went private, too.

Yeah, the selective sync folders not loading is fixed for me, but syncing is still iffy.  It's stuck on applying the selective sync, but in my case that should just be removing a directory or two.

selective sync still fixed, had to link and unlink account *again* for syncing to actually work.

Gave up.  Dropping Dropbox for iCloud now.  Wasted days of time on this and it's no longer worth the $10/month to deal with this...
