Can't access Dropbox Passwords on my new PC
My PC has gone, it has no connection on the internet.
I bought a new PC and installed dropbox. I thought passwords would come with dropbox, but I get a message that needs to check my identity and to check for "edge notification" which I do not get.
How do I proceed?
THanks

Hey stefano sega, thanks for joining our Community.
You're referring to the Dropbox Passwords browser extension, is that correct?
Can you send us a screenshot of that message that you're getting?
If you're not getting the notification on Edge, can you try with a different browser, to see if that helps?
Thanks.

This is the screenshot. (its in italian, but I have seen a similar screenshot from some other user in a different thread, same problem). How do I do it on another browser?

I tried with chrome, I logged into my DB account, added the password extension but I receive the exact same message: it is not clear where this notification is going to. Terrible system, someone has to look into it. I am not the only one facing this problem, apparently and I have seen no solution to the other threads, some going back 2 years or more

Hey stefano sega, thanks for the update and for your feedback here.
The notification should go to all the devices you've already connected to confirm the new device you're trying to connect.
If you don't receive the notification automatically on your connected devices, open the Passwords mobile app (if you have it) or the browser extension.

Yes, this is the problem. The notification is going to the old PC, but that PC is not connecting to the net (reason why I have a new PC). So, if there is no other way, then I have lost all my passwords. Pretty stupid system, if you ask me. Migration from one PC to a new one should be seamless; it is the whole point of using a cloud-based app like DB. Instead, it has been made un-necessarily complicated.

I understand where you're coming from, Stefano, however, Dropbox Passwords stores sensitive info like logins, card info, etc., so it's necessary to have additional security layers.
Of course, I'll pass your comments to our team in any case.
Since you don't have access to any previously-connected device or browser, Dropbox Passwords should ask for your recovery words, in their original order so you can connect a new browser. Do you have them?
