The Dropbox icon is missing and reinstalling didn't help much.
I am a very casual DB user, so user error is likely here. That said...
I am having a number of issues with DB so I started with a fresh uninstall/reinstall of DB, as that seemed to be the commo...

I noticed it first yesterday, but it probably happened much earlier than that as I don't normally have a need for the icon. I was logged in as admin when I did the reinstall, but that is all that I know about the app status. Thanks for the help.

I cannot do Step #1 because I don't have a DB icon. Which processes do I need to kill in Taskmanager or what else should I do here?

Hey DaveLeeNC! Sorry for jumping in. If the Dropbox icon isn’t there, you can move on to the next steps directly.

I have gone through all the steps and DB 'successfully reinstalled'. But I don't have a DB icon plus the app won't run. When I enter 'Dropbox' on the taskbar search thingey, it finds the Dropbox app, asks my permission to allow changes, but the app actually doesn't run (does not show up in Taskmanager under 'Apps'). However there are 8 Dropbox Background Processes running (which seem to run even if I don't try to run the DB app). Thoughts on my next steps?
Thanks again for the prompt assistance.

I am not sure that this is going well. The instructions refer to folders like "%LOCALAPPDATA" and "%PROGRAMFILES%", etc. The best that I can do is to find the AppData->Local under the (only) user that is relevant here. So I assume that is what is being referenced. There are no "DropBox" folders anywhere that I can find in either of the ProgramFiles folders. I did find a DropBoxUpdate folder. Should I just ignore those steps (8 and 9) and proceed? FWIW, I also did not find a DropBoxUpdate folder in the registry.
