Dropbox and Carbonite. Could that cause any problems?

I have Carbonite running and just read that that could cause a Dropbox failure. What should I do? I've paused Carbonite, but has any damage been done? If so, how would I know?

  • It shouldn't be a problem to leave Carbonite running for a while longer, or it shouldn't be a problem to remove it!!

Hi Judy12159, let's jump right into this!

Can you clarify more, as to where you read that? As for damage, you could try previewing your content in order to check, but overall I don't think it would cause irrevocable damage to your files.

We generally advice people not to have too many third-party apps syncing content along with the Dropbox app, but I'd need more info as to what you read exactly, in order to also provide you with further information on my end.

    I hope this helps!

And, of course, I don't recall where I read this! I didn't realize that I was duplicating my syncs and will be happy not to renew my Carbonite subscription. I'm just wondering whether I should simply remove it from my computer once I'm comfortable with Dropbox.
