How can I set up Dropbox on WD PR4100?

Is anyone successfully using Dropbox on Western Digital Cloud OS 5 and if so what are the correct network settings to configure?

On my NAS WD PR4100, the Dropbox app doesn't let me go beyond the "Sign In" button.

The button triggers a window to select my dropbox account, allow the API and provides a code that i then enter in the pop up window.

Once that's done, i'm redirected to that same "Sign in" button and that's all i can do.

After contacting WD, I was told that it was a Dropbox issue (I figure they don't necessarily care what the Dropbox app needs so it makes sense that they send you to the app maker)
After contacting Dropbox, I was told that Dropbox needs some access to this and that so it's a Cloud OS 5 settings issue so i'm send back to WD which can also make sense.

Anyway, i'm not very savy with SSL, SSH or networking settings so if someone got this to work, i'd appreciate some info on the settings that would unlock this service

I have exactly the same problem on brand ned PR4100.

    Did you find a solution?

You'll need to contact WD support for assistance. The Dropbox app you're using is created by them, not Dropbox, and uses the Dropbox API to make the connection to your account. They'll likely need to update their app if it's no longer connecting correctly.

Hi S473, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If the app is visible on this page, could you try disconnecting and connecting it again to see if this helps?

    Keep me posted!

      Hi Jay,

Thanks for your reply and suggestion.
I disconnected and reconnected but the same problem persists.

I have done that several times in the past couple weeks and it didn't help unfortunately.

Here is the status of other things I was asked about by WD or DB customer service :

      - Internet connection working fine through Ethernet cable.
      - Multiple restarts before and after updates of firmware and app installation
      - OS firmware on WD PR4100 OS5 updated to the latest (5.28.105)
      - Dropbox app up to date (2.24)
      - Cleared computer's browser's cache (the one i use to access the CloudOS interface)
      - no issues with my Dropbox account (running perfectly, unlimited API acces...)

      Cheers

Thanks for the info, I'd recommend checking with WD support on this matter, since they may need to make some changes to their app in order to connect to the Dropbox API.
