Hi lukeflegg, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you confirm if the email used for your Dropbox account is the same as the email used when signing into Google, or are they different addresses?
This will help me to assist further!

Hello 🙂
Different emails. But the one I use for Dropbox is my "Alternative email" for my Google account.. meaning I can literally log into Google with it and if people share a Drive doc or folder with that email, it behaves like my Google email. I would maybe prefer to keep my Dropbox as it is because it's my work email address whereas my Google one is a bit unprofessional.
Although I don't know if clients would ever see what email address I use for Dropbox?

It's possible that the error you're getting is due to the emails not being the same on the system, as they do need to match when creating Google files.
- lukeflegg2 years agoHelpful | Level 5Thanks. So if I changed my Dropbox email to my Gmail one, would my clients I share Dropbox links with etc see my unprofessional Gmail email address?

Hey lukeflegg, if you're just sending 'can view' links to your clients, they can't see your email through Dropbox.
If you're sending links via email, using this address, they'll of course see it, but through your Dropbox link, your email address is not visible; they can only see your account's name.
