How do I sign in to my Dropbox account if I've made too many login attempts?
I have a problem logging in after I did phone reset.
At first I thought that maybe I am entering wrong password so I did password reset as well but it doesn't help.
I waited for hours but nothing is changing.
I tried to uninstall and install app again but problem still persists.
The three steps sollution that has worked out:
- Login to your dropbox account trough the website.
- Go to your profile and activate Two Factor authentication.
- Try to log again in the device/app you want, After provide the password it should ask for the security code just generated, provide it and you will be good to go.
That's the only sollution so far and was provided by the community, not even the Dropbox support although is a long time subject.
PS: Thank you @Andrew C.

Message calling the attention addresed to Dropbox Customer service Team
In this sense dropbox support should be more proactive and add a message at the end of the reset password notification e-mail and also to the FAQ.
That would reduce the ammount of tickets open on your side, customers will be self served and the forum won't be populated with long tail and spread messages regarding an issue that could be easily solved.

Same issue here, can't login to android app on my new Samsung Galaxy S6 edge ('too many failed logins'). This issue applies only to the dropbox app on this particular device. No problem logging in to the app on my old phone, pc, or web browser.

Hi all,
it was working fine until yesterday but today its not working on my android S5 mini. it gives the same error as above snapshot. Andrew C's . solution should have worked but im' not receiving any SMS to verify 2 step verification and QR code reader says the code might be corrupt or incorrect. So its not working... However its working fine on my laptop {both app. version as well as web interface}, I have logged off and logged in again on the laptop - works on both app. as well as web... Not sure why isn't it working on the Android.... On the phone i have removed the update for dropbox, uninstalled the app., reinstalled and tried again - Unsuccessful.
Seems to be a glitch w.r.t. android...Somebody from dropbox please fix this at the earliest, its so frustrating.

I was also having this issue on the Android app, but I tried the 2-step verification fix posted above and it worked for me.

I had the same problem today after factory-reset on my Note 3.
I solved it that way:

I had same problem when setting up a new Android phone today. My old number is being transferred to the SIM in the new phone but that hasn't happened yet. It seems that Dropbox is picking up the number from the new SIM. I will wait until the number is transferred and if I still can't sign in to Dropbox, I will provide my phone number as 2nd security step as suggested.

I uninstalled the updates of Dropbox and stopped the app. Then updated dropbox and started it again. I was logged in automatically.
